Authors Note: Yes, another. Written the same night as Anniversary, it has the same theme- a reflection of Vincent and Catherine's love and my personal tribute.
Disclaimer: Don't own. Can't own. They own themselves, thank you very much.
I wore my quartz necklace today.
It was Vincent and Catherine's anniversary, you know- the twelfth of April.
My necklace was my silent tribute to them, since I couldn't celebrate with anyone else.
A lot of people don't realize it's quartz- most think it's amber.
But it's quartz. No where as near as perfect or big or clear as Catherine's, but quartz nonetheless.
It's not even on a nice chain- just hangs from my neck on a black cord, not decorative in the slightest.
It may not be much of a tribute, but it's the only one I've got.
I also wore my phoenix necklace today.
It's a piece of glass, blown and hardened into a solid, flattened sphere with a shimmering, sparkling phoenix inside. The phoenix is usually a deep, clear blue, but sometimes, in the right light, it turns emerald green. I like to think that the blue is for Vincent's eyes and the green for Catherine's, but that's just me.
I suppose, in some way, the phoenix shows the nature of their love- the phoenix lives for 500 or 1000 years, only to be reborn out of it's own ashes, a newborn chick.
And there's only one pair of them in the world at any time, some say.
Their love remains , whether or not they themselves are ashes- it will remain, I like to think.
And it's the only one like it we'll ever see.
Perfect.
Pure.
Pure.
Unique.
Theirs.
