After having read quite a few of the completed KA pairing stories, I noticed nobody else took this route (sorry if it is in one of the on going stories). It came to me after something made me think of the British Royal family, and then my mind took me to Sailor Moon (you should understand when you read the story)
Disclaimer: I am not making any money with this fic. I own nothing of Voltron, and unless you could the toy lions that assembled to make Voltron and the action figures of the Voltron force, Lotor, and Haggar I had as a kid, I have never owned anything Voltron. Those toys were well loved and well played with I can assure you.
Two Words
Coran was in Castle Command watching over the security monitors showing areas of the castle and its surrounding grounds when Lance entered the room, holding a book behind his back. He walked up to where Coran was seated, and without a word, he opened the book he held, to the page he had marked with a sheet of paper, leaving the paper in place.
Looking at the other man beside him, Coran saw he had a book from the old castle's library. 'What was Lance doing in there?' the royal advisor wondered. Lance did not seem the type to be looking through the planets ancient tomes.
As Lance set the open book in front of Coran he said, "Two words."
Coran looked at the book and saw it was opened to an entry about Prince Consorts. The paper Lance had left in the book had a handwritten list of men who had been Prince Consorts to past Queen's of Arus. The handwriting was very much Lance's.
Coran looked around around to question Lance about how he thought to look for the information, but he only managed to catch a glimpse of the pilot as the door of the room was closing behind him as he exited.
Turning back to his task of watching over they castle's security for a shift, Coran saw the main viewer had been changed to show Princess Allura and Keith in one of the gardens. Lance must have changed it after setting the book down.
Coran noticed the way the pair interacted, even without hearing what they were saying. He could see that while they were close friends, they each longed to be closer. How could he help his princess and the young man he grew to deeply admire find the happiness they craved and deserved?
Coran leaned forward in his chair, putting his elbows on the desk in from of him, hitting the bottom of the book. He looked down at the pages once more. As he reread the list of names, he realized Lance had given him the answer.
The younger man must have also noticed the feelings of their friends and done the research into how the two of them could help.
The royal advisor made a mental note to find the pilot of the red lion, the two of them would need to work together to help the couple on the main screen realize they could actually be together.
Thanks to Lance, Coran had enough information to start his own research into the past. He would need more than what Lance gave him to prepare an argument for when the planets' noble would try to stop the pair on the screen from becoming closer than they already were. He had to be ready to make sure the road ahead of the pair was clear of as many obstacles as he could.
