The breeze drifted through the trees, ruffling the delicate cherry blossoms. Of course Yachiru Kusajishi didn't notice as she was trying to figure out how to get into the Kuchiki residence. She had watched servants come and go so she knew which entrance to use, now all she was waiting for was a certain person to come home.
Finally she saw a head of black hair. She launched herself out of the tree at the person. "Ruki-nee! Play with me!"
"Um, Yachiru-fukutaicho. What are you doing here?" Rukia asked as she tried to extract the pink haired girl from her head.
"I'm bored! Play with me! Tag! Tag! Tag!" She chanted until Rukia agreed. "Yay! Ruki-nee is playing with me!"
"Just let me put my stuff in the house. Go around back."
"Okay!"Yachiru cried happily. She wandered around back. The door to the kitchens was open and she took her chance. Nobody noticed the head of pink hair as Yachiru made her way to where she had seen Byakushi in the past. She darted into his office and sat down in front of the fireplace.
She could hear the servants and Rukia yelling for her. Ignoring them she thought about what type of candy Byakushi would give her. 'Hopefully good.'
An hour passed and she still sat there, her attention span surprisingly long when she wanted it to be.
Finally the door to the study opened. She turned and watched Byakuya enter.
"You have all my servants in an uproar. What do you have to say for yourself?"
"Byakushi!" She cried as she hugged his legs. "I want some candy! What type of candy do you have?"
He sighed and made his way over to his desk. He opened his drawer. Out came a pink bag that she tried to grab.
"Now, now. You have to promise me that you won't use Rukia as an excuse to enter my house. All right?"
"Yep! Candy!" She cried as the bag was lowered into her hands, she excitedly opened it. She grabbed a handful and pushed it into her mouth, giggling as she tasted the cherry flavored goop. "Thanks, Byakushi! See you later!"
"Wait," he said as he pulled a piece of paper out of his desk. "Give this to Zaraki. That is all. You may leave."
She took the note and jumped out of the window. Using her crazy speed she made it back to the eleventh division headquarters within five minutes. She found Kenpachi at his desk grumbling at the stacks of paperwork around him.
"Ken-chan!" She sang. "I got this for you! It's from Byakushi!"
"You been buggin' Kuchiki again, Yachiru? I thought I told you to stay away from him." He took the note she offered and read it. "Harrumph." He growled as he crumpled the note. "Friggin' aristocrat. Get any good candy from 'im?"
"Cherry! It's good! Want some?"
"Just a piece. Don't need all that sugar. And neither do you," he said as he took the bag away. "If you're a good girl and kill all the Hollows later, you can have some more."
"Yay! Ken-chan is the best! I'm gonna go find Feather and Pachinko head!"
"Yeah, you do that." He grumbled as she ran out the door. "Maybe next week Kuchiki will have better candy. No more of this cherry stuff . . ."
