There had never really been a normal for her. Normal kids her age experienced wonderful things like swimming or learning how to play a new game or exploring the world with their families on vacation. But she wasn't some normal kid. Everywhere she went was a place to hide until her father returned. Every experience was for survival and for survival alone. Kill or be killed, that's just the way things were.
