Clack Clack Clack Clack
The sound of shimmering blue talons meeting smooth stone tiles echoed off the equally smooth walls as Mindwarper sprinted down the long corridor.
The Temple had to be close, Mindwarper could feel it's energy seeping into his scales like the heat on a summer day. Well, during the times he was rarely let outside. Those days usually involved blood on his scales too.
Suddenly, he felt the white hot rage of his pursuer flaring into his mind. Nightburn was getting closer, and so were her vicious thoughts.
"MINDWARPER!" an enraged voice roared, "GET BACK HERE BEFORE I RIP YOUR BLASTED WINGS OFF!"
Terror struck Mindwarper like an IceWings' frigid frostbreath. She couldn't be that close, not when he almost had his freedom.
He swiftly turned into another corridor, revealing a regal door covered in turquoise engravings.
Perfect. Mindwarper pushed open the door with nearly enough force to tear it off its hinges and bounded into the palace room.
He quickly surveyed the indoor courtyard; dining tables, couches, and hundreds of NightWings surrounded the black building in the center, which Mindwarper assumed to be the Temple.
Nightburn burst through the turquoise door followed by a whole squad of soldiers, spears at the ready. Startled NightWings turned their heads to look at the odd, multicolored dragon in the room.
"Mindwarper," Nightburn snarled, " you are under arrest for disobeying military instructions and theft of the Eye of Omnipresence. "
Mindwarper grinned, "Good luck torturing me when there's no conscious in my body!"
And with that, Mindwarper ripped the glowing pendant off his neck and shoved it into a slot in the Temple. Suddenly, sparks of blue, green, and purple erupted from the building as a cascade of colors filled the courtyard. Mindwarper felt his mind being ripped from his body. Immense pain filled every single one Mindwarper's muscles before the world turned dark.
