"Krssshh Red Alpha in place. What's your position Blue Unit? Krsshh"

"Krsshh Blue Unit what's your position? krssh"

….

"Krsshh Blue Unit report! Krsssh"

Damn.

Looking to my left I can already see my partner shaking his head in the negative having read my intentions. Sighing I shook all thoughts of going to the Blue Unit location knowing that the success of the mission was paramount to everything else. But it still didn't erase the bitter taste in my mouth for abandoning my team-mates. Firming my resolve I gave the signal for my unit to proceed and I adjusted my hold on my rifle leading my team to our intended target.

The first thing I noticed upon entering the room was the strong stench of blood and decay. Looking around I barely managed to stop myself from throwing up from the gruesome sight in from of me. I could hear expletives coming loud and clear through my headset as the rest of unit came in with one person even puking at the sight. Mangled body parts littered the floor of the abandoned mansion and I felt my heart skip a beat when I noticed a few body weren't adults. What the fuck happened here?!

Thump thump.

I stopped mid-stride as the rest of my team fanned out and began to systematically search the place.

Thump thump.

What is that? It sounded like a heartbeat but no one else seemed to be hearing it.

"Red Bull you hear that?" I asked my second in command.

"Hear what Red Alpha?"

Thump thump

"That! Like a heartbeat." Glancing at him I could see him trying to listen out for the sound I was talking about but It was obvious he wasn't hearing it.

Thump thump

I slowly followed where I thought I heard the sound coming from noticing a black door to side of the main room. Gripping my gun I continued to the door and flicked on the lights to fill the com with expletives. What the fuck is going on here. All over the walls were pictures of me, from my childhood to my op days. There were even pictures of me in my home or dates. I heard my unit rush to the room and cursing with the same shock as me, I pressed forward to the centre table where I actually felt the pulse coming from.

Thump thump

On the table was an amulet and I felt strangely drawn to it. I slowly stretched my hand out to touch it only for the windows in the room to shatter and the temperature to drop drastically.

"Don't touch it!" Hissed a voice.

My team and I immediately pointed our rifles to the newcomer only for me to gasp. In front of me stood the most handsome man I had ever seen. Even with the snarl that twisted his pale features you could tell that he was absolutely gorgeous.

"You must not touch that amulet. Humans must never touch it." He continued and as I looked closer at him I noticed the strangest thing. His eyes were blood red.
