HTTYD 2 Trailer Novelization – Hiccup & Astrid
"Where have you been?" Hiccup asked Astrid, who was jumping off her Nadder.
"Where have you been?" Astrid shot back cheekily. Hiccup sighed.
"Avoiding my dad."
Astrid gave a small gasp.
"Oh no. What happened now?" she asked.
"Oh, you're gonna love this!" Hiccup smirked, "I wake up, sun is shining, Terrible Terrors are singing on the rooftops. I sauntered down to breakfast thinking all is right with the world and then I get…" Hiccup put on his Dad's voice, "SON! We need to talk! Yo–"
"Not now, Dad, I've got a whole day of goofing off to get started," mimicked Astrid in Hiccup's voice. However, it sounded too nasally for Hiccup's liking.
"First of all, I don't sound like that. Who is this character?" Hiccup interjected, looking incredulously at Astrid, "And second… what's that thing you're doing with my shoulders."
In response, Astrid just cheekily shook her shoulders in a dramatic fashion and giggled.
"That's a truly flattering… impersonation," Hiccup remarked dryly, while Astrid stifled her giggles.
"Anyway, he goes…" continued Hiccup, getting his Father's voice back on, "You're the Pride of Berk, son, and I couldn't be prouder –"
"Aww, thanks Dad, I'm pretty impressed with myself too!" Astrid interrupted again, gesturing with her hands to complete her 'Hiccup Act'. This time, Hiccup couldn't resist chortling – but he still gave Astrid a piece of his mind.
"When have I ever done 'that' with my hand?!" he complained, mind you he was doing the exact same gesture Astrid had done seconds ago.
"You just did!" Astrid managed to gasp out, before dissolving into a fit of giggles again.
"Look – I – ahh…" sighed Hiccup. Astrid did have a point there. He strolled over to sit by her.
"Okay, just… hold still," he gently scolded, holding her arms, "This is very serious."
Astrid pouted, but she also nodded her head in understanding.
What exactly was Hiccup serious about this time?
