Introduction
I have been a long time fan of the popular ITV television series "The Bill" and have long been interested with several crime dramas. My first thoughts of writing a fan fiction of my favourite show came when I envisaged cases and crimes for the police to solve. But I had no idea how to put it into a story that would fit into the world of Sun Hill.
I completely dismantled the idea. The Bill is a serial after all. These were the questions that occurred to me. How would I be able to end it? How would I make it feel like an episode from "The Bill"? And, how would I use the characters in the show that had already been written out?
It was over.
I would never write one of these fan fictions.
But as cheesy and corny as it sounds it was a dream that really inspired me to write one. I'm a big fan of the HBO series "The Sopranos" and I watched an episode on my DVD player before going to sleep. I can't remember the details that well. But I basically had this dream of Tony Soprano's night club, the Bada Bing, being stormed by the National Crime Squad led by Jack Meadows.
I thought that was kind of cool. Not the Sopranos part. Get rid of Tony Soprano and I've got myself an idea here.
That's when it started.
Details
During the project I strived for the feel of the show. To fully integrate that into my fan fiction I have written storylines both for uniform and for CID. It will involve a few characters from the show, but the majority are characters I created.
Why would I do this, you may ask?
One simple answer. Original characters have more effect. Say I killed Jack Meadows. I don't think that would have as much effect on the reader if I killed my own original character because Meadows would just turn up the next week on the show.
Because of the large amount of characters that are new to the reader I have made a table so you can follow the characters and who they are.
