Set S01E05.
"Can you wish on this kind of shooting star?"
He takes a beat too long to answer, and even when he has, she knows she won't forget that look he'd given her. He'd looked at her as if she were crazy...as if wishing were a frivolous thing, and as if thinking it weren't made her a lesser person than him.
This, she's come to realise, is what Bellamy Blake does. He belittles and condescends. He takes power when he wants it, and it doesn't matter if someone else deserves it more than he does. He'll make the hard decisions, not because he's the only one who can, but because he doesn't want to relinquish the power he has. He's the worst kind of leader there is: the kind who cares more about himself than his people.
She wants to believe there's more to him than that, but it's hard to imagine that there could be. When he ignores what she has to say, refuses to fight for those who can't, fights for the sake of fighting, and looks at her like that, it's hard not to think of him as the villain.
She tilts her face to the sky, closes her eyes, and pictures the long gone star.
I wish for him to prove me wrong.
