Summary: The two brothers of legend stood facing each other from across the battlefield. One in white with demons at his back. The other in flannel and jeans, his angel clutching his hand.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything related to Supernatural. If I did, it would be Dean/Castiel every hour all the time.
"Not Supposed to Be"
It wasn't supposed to be this way. Sure, she knew things were going to go badly, very badly by the end of days, but she never wanted to see this.
There was fire, nothing but fire. The screams of the tortured and dying rang in her ears, causing tears to spring to her eyes. Their army was fighting valiantly, but it all seemed so futile. The angels were falling left and right to the hordes of demons shooting out of hell, lead by Sa...Lucifer himself. It wasn't him, never him. She had to remember that. He was dead the moment the devil took his body. He had been an archangel on par with Michael...and everyone knew what happened to those vessels.
It was hard to see what was going on around her, but then everything just...stopped. All eyes were focused on the scene playing out before them.
The two brothers of legend stood facing each other from across the battlefield. One dressed fully in white, his lips spread with maniacal glee. His demon mate waited a step behind him, her dark hair slick with blood and her black eyes glinting.
The other stood in flannel and jeans, a mean looking gun cocked in his right hand. His angel stood beside him, pale wings flecked with gore spread behind them. Clenched tightly in their joined hands was a flaming sword, already soiled by the flesh of lower demons.
"So good to see you again Brother," the devil laughed as he shook his head slightly, "though definitely not on the side I had hoped to see you on."
The angel grimaced at the sentiment, but stood his ground. The man beside him held firmly to his hand, lending his support.
"Cut the crap Lucy, and let's get this over with," he snarled and jumped forward, gun raised. The devil lifted his hand and the human went flying before the angel could stop him.
His angel ran forward, trying to get to him before the devil could. He never noticed his human screaming his name, nor her sobbing for him to stop. She could see what was happening, but had no way to stop it. Nor tell him the devil was right behind him.
"CAS!"
There was blood, so much blood. It was everywhere, leaking from the sword though his chest. He glanced down at it in disbelief, then looked towards his human that was now suddenly right in front of him.
"De-"
He caught the limp body before it hit the ground. The man shook his angel, screaming, pleading for him to wake up, please wake up. He couldn't do it with out him. Please, don't leave him behind.
The devil laughed as he watched his brother die in his arms. To him, it was funny to watch. They had loved each other completely, and now one of them was gone. Now maybe he could have a decent fight from his counterpart.
"Michael...I say yes."
The devil's eyes went wide with shock, and she looked on in horror as the world went white.
"No! Dean!"
------------End Dream-------------
She shot up in bed, her chest heaving and her bedclothes drenched. Tears cascaded down her cheeks as she reached for the phone on her bedside. She dialed the number she knew by heart, hoping he would pick up.
One ring, two rings, three rings, four-
"Hello?"
"Dean."
"...Missouri...?"
The End
So yeah. Tell me what you think!
