Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter. I have one of it's books. Somewhere in my house. Or the attic. Back to the story.

"Going somewhere, Granger?" A voice asked from behind as Hermione stopped in her tracks and spun around, facing the owner of the voice.

"What's it to you, Malfoy?" Hermione asked bitterly, shifting the book she had in her grasp as she glared daggers at the one who tormented her most.

Ignoring the question, Draco frowned. "You must be plotting against me, to humiliate me in public like you always do, what with your being a Mudblood." He sighed, glaring back at Hermione.

Hermione was appalled. She was simply heading to the library to study, not for a test, but for pleasure reading, and out of nowhere Malfoy dared accuse her of plotting against him? That didn't make sense!

'If anything, Malfoy would plot against me to get at Harry.' Hermione thought.

"If you'll excuse me, I have better things to do rather than talking to you, Malfoy." Hermione sighed, spinning on her heel and walking away.

Over the past few weeks, Hermione noticed, Draco has been talking to her and accusing her of evil deeds often. 'Well, not so much evil as secret,' Hermione noted as she began to turn a corner.

"It has nothing to do with a Griffin, does it? Your plot, I mean." Draco called out just in earshot with Hermione.

At that, Hermione stopped. 'A Griffin? Why would Malfoy accuse that?' She thought, glancing back at Draco as he stood there, an unreadable expression on his face.

".. No, of course not. Why would you ask such a thing?" Hermione asked, turning to face Draco.

Draco just shook his head and muttered incoherently. "Whatever, Granger. Go back to your mudblood mummsy." He mumbled, turning and heaing down the hall, taking a left to the exit of the school.

Hermione paused, watching Draco turn and head for the exit. 'Where could he be going? It's against the rules to leave the school.' Hermione thought, watching curiously, before looking around her.

No one was around; the halls were empty. There wasn't even so much as a noise to be heard besides Draco's fading footsteps.

"... I guess I could follow him, just this once." Hermione sighed, following Draco out to the exit. "But he better take the blame if I get in trouble..." She muttered as a last thought, stepping onto the bridge, leading to the forest that a certain mischevious blonde teenager went through.
