Phantom Traveler-What if the plane crashed?

Sam finished the exorcism and the demon was expunged from the plane. However, that didn't seem to be curtailing the electrical or mechanical problems or whatever. Sam started to crawl back toward the back of the plane where Dean was, when a piece of luggage went flying and hit him on the head. He was knocked unconscious.

From his cowering position at the back of the plane, Dean felt the demon leaving, but noticed that the plane was doing all sorts of funky stuff still. Where was Sam? He started to crawl to the body of the plane. He saw Sam lying unconscious in the middle of the aisle. Dean crawled over to him and cradled him in his lap. He felt the plane hit something and saw water seeping in.

They had crashed into the Ohio River.

Dean held Sam tight during the evacuation. Unfortunately this flight was not equipped with a life raft, and since he and Sam weren't in seats, they didn't have flotation devices. He was going to have to keep both him and Sam afloat.

They were out of the plane and in the water. Dean tried to find an unoccupied piece of plane to hold onto with his other hand. It was going to be hard enough keeping two people's head above water, he needed something to hold onto.

He looked out toward the nearby shore and saw boats coming out to the rescue. He tried to get his brother on the first boat.

"He's hurt," he begged.

"He's the one that caused the crash," one of the passengers said. She had seen him in the middle of the aisle chanting some mumbo jumbo. Obviously it was witchcraft or something to bring the plane down. The other passengers looked menacingly at Sam.

"If he caused the crash, he gets on the last boat," one of the rescue workers decided.

2 hours later, the last boat was loading up. Dean lifted Sam onto the boat and then got on himself. He was very worried that his brother was still unconscious.

Once on the dock, one of the passengers approached menacingly. "I want to know what he did to the plane," hedemanded.

"He didn't do anything to the plane, I swear," Dean said. "Where's that flight attendant, Amanda?" He asked. She would help clear Sam.

"She didn't make it," the captain answered.

Dean was silent for a long moment. He liked Amanda, she was funny and brave and had helped them out when it counted.

He noticed that Sam was starting to stir in his arms. He moaned. "Dean?" he asked.

"Yeah, Sammy," Dean sighed a breath of relief.

"What happened?"

"Plane crashed."

"Is everybody OK?" Sam asked.

"No, I know Amanda died, I'm not sure about any others," Dean answered truthfully.

"It's my fault. If I hadn't been distracted by it talking about Jessica…" He let the thought trail off.

"No, Sammy, it's not your fault, and keep your voice down. Some of the other passengers are already blaming you and I think they might try to hurt you. I need to get you out of here, pronto."

Just then, for some unknown reason, the plane in the middle of the river exploded. Dean used the distraction to help Sam up and sneak away unseen.

The End.
