A:N/ Hey. I hope you enjoy reading this. I just felt like writing something, and somehow this came out. It's set sometime after Breaking Dawn.
Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Or Breaking Dawn. Those are all property of the amazing Stephenie Meyer.
Moonlight filtered through her curtains, breaking the gloom of the dark. She sighed, gliding to her window, marveling at the light speckled through the sky. Such mysterious things, stars were. Burning so brightly they can be seen millions of light-years away, appearing only a mere fraction of their size. Seen only when the world was at rest, brightening the despondency of night, and filling it with a wonder few took time to admire.
She sighed again, leaning against the frosty glass. Night was her favorite time of day. While most others preferred the bright warmth of the sunshine, she favored the chilly moon in all its glory. Perhaps it was another way she had inadvertently furthered herself from the normal population. She used to love the sun before, too - but then she moved to Forks, and the world she knew changed. So it was reasonable that she would change too, thanks to the supernatural gentleman she'd fallen for. Not to mention the supernatural body she now inhabited.
The moon now symbolized so much more. It symbolized how she'd chosen icy over scorching. It reminded her of all those lonely nights she'd had, and how he came back and filled them with love. It was a symbol of how their love was never ending - no matter how much of it showed, it was always there. It was a reminder of the choice she'd made - she could never go out into the sun when there were people around, and she would never sleep through the night again. Though the thought was a bit forlorn, she experienced no regret.
A serene smile snuck its way up her face as she continued to watch the light glint on the white powder outside. She listened to her child's even breathing for a while, mixed in with the breathing of her unofficial son-in-law. He'd been playing with her daughter when they'd both fallen asleep. She couldn't bring herself to wake him up; the scene was so sweet it would've been a crime. Her lover's soft footfalls distracted her from her musing.
"What were you thinking about, my beautiful Bella?" He whispered quietly, her favorite crooked smile resting on his flawless face. She glanced at him before leaning her head on his chest.
"Nothing." She replied shortly, nuzzling into the crook of his neck. He stared at her suspiciously for a moment, relenting after her silence. She felt his face press into her hair, and she wrapped her arms around him. They stood there for an immeasurable amount of time, just basking in each other's company.
Yes, night was her favorite time of day. Something told her that wasn't going to change anytime soon.
A:N/ It's short, I know. Anyway, please review and tell me what you think. I hope you enjoyed, and I'll catch ya later!
