Disclaimer: I do not own PoT. I don't wish to either. Err… did that sound insulting? I'm still new to this fanfiction thing and I'm a little put off by how hard it is to slide in the author's note and stuff.
Momoshiro and Kaidou were tense. Their eyes locked in an intense battle. The juniors formed a circle around the two seniors. Afraid to go closer than two feet in fear that they would interrupt something important and face the full wrath of Momo-chansempai and Kaidou-sempai.
Well, not everyone was afraid. Ryoma was the only junior who dared to go within two feet. Not only that, he walked between the two rivals to get to the changing room. Even though nothing happened to him, the others were still too afraid to do the same. Since the two seniors were blocking the only entrance to the changing room, the others could only wait.
One minute passed, and still the seniors did not move from the spot. Their intense will to surpass their rival caused the air around them to crackle with tension. No one dared to move, afraid that if they broke their concentration, they would have to face the wrath of Momo-chansempai and Kaidou-sempai. Not a pretty image.
It was always like this. The two sempais could make competitions out of anything. Although, getting Kaidou to participate was another thing altogether. But as long as it had anything to do with tennis, the two rivals would not hesitate to go into an all out war.
Sweat rolled off Momoshiro's brow as another minute passed. By then, even Ryoma did not dare to get between them. He was cool and didn't care about what others thought about him, but that did not mean that he was stupid and couldn't see between the lines.
"There is a 76 chance that Kaidou will win, 23 chance that Momo will win, and 1 chance that it will end in a draw." Inui suddenly appeared out of nowhere, scaring the skin out off quite a number of juniors.
"When will it end?" Kikumaru asked.
"About now. See?" Inui said.
A drop of sweat rolled down Momoshiro's skin into his eye. The usually loud regular clenched his fist as his eye started to sting. Few seconds later, he had no choice but to succumb to the blossoming pain.
Kaidou gave a hiss of triumph and walked into the changing room. Ryoma stepped aside, a rare thing, coming from the youngest regular. Inui snapped his notebook shut and walked after him. The tension broke as the juniors quickly rushed into the changing room.
Outside, Momoshiro let vent a frustrated yell. He had lost! He had lost to Mamoshi at a staring game! All because of a bead of sweat!
He knew that a lot of people like to say that the smallest things can influence the greatest battle. But they didn't have to be so literal.
Ne?
I would be really happy if you would just move your mouse a bit and press the cute little square button down there. Yeah, that one with the word Go. XP
