A/N:
I'm doubtful that this came from the sane part of my brain – that part is nonexsistent. This was inspired by the last chapterh of Intersecting Points by Seefs. Sort of like an explanation of sorts on why Mustang warned Katara. You should read that to understand why I wrote this. :3 Enjoy, and don't forget to read and review!
Words: 366 [So short 3:]
"Edward, Edward my dear, why are you tormenting me? Why couldn't you let me die in peace?"
A black, charred hand reached out to grab at him and he instantly recoiled, backing up until he hit something solid. Al.
Al stared down at him, red eyes glinting sadly. "Why couldn't you follow the law, brother?" Brother?"
Edward struggled to find someway out of his bindings – and the hands were at him. Pulling him down, scratching, clawing, screaming begging pain pain painpainpainpain make it stop! Make it stop, stop stop stop stopstopstopstopstop! He was going crazy from the voices, the tearing, the clawing, pulling him down dragging him up. And suddenly, they stopped. His body began disintegrating and he heard Truth, he heard his mother, he heard Al, he heard Hohenheim, he heard everyone, everything, nothing, emptiness, he heard them all.
But worst of all – he heard everyone looking down on him, belittling him, hating him. He heard the disbelief, the hatred in their voices as one by one, everyone he ever knew – Winry, Gran, Al, Trisha, Hohenheim, Elicia, Hughes... Mustang, everyone left him, left him all alone. Not looking back, never looking back. Everyone hated him, they hated him.
Mustang shook Edward's shoulder, attemtping to soothe the boy out of his nightmare, when of a sudden Edward shot up. His arm had transmuted in a flash of blue that was so quick that the Colonel barely saw it. The metal sword was at his neck and drawing blood. Mustang gulped, obviously frightened at the act.
Edward's eyes were dilating, in and out, big and small. He's still dreaming, Mustang thought. He took note of how harsh and erratic his breathing was, how he twitched and how his eyes moved back and forth. Mustang touched Edward's shoulder and he flinched, letting out a piercing scream
The hand left his neck and found it's way to the owner's blond head of hair. Edward tugged and Roy pulled his hands away, tugging the boy to his chest and hushing the screams until they were merely sobs.
"Sh..., sh, I'm here fullmetal, I'm here."
"You're... you're... here?"
"Yes, and I'll never be gone from you – ever."
