Summary: Ludwig and Gilbert Beilschmidt, two brothers are torn apart when Berlin is divided following the Second World War. When a wall is erected in the centre of their city and emigration from Eastern Berlin is prohibited, Ludwig sees only one option. Desperate to reunite with his brother, Ludwig risks his life to bring his brother home from the Soviet-controlled side of the capital. But will his efforts be enough?
