Hanako cuddled up to Hisao in their bedroom as they pored over a wedding planner workbook. Their very last semester at university was nearing an end, and they had been happily engaged since New Years Day. Because of their heavy workload for classes, they had been unable to get much wedding planning done until the semester began to wind down. Lilly had given them the wedding planner book earlier in the semester so they weren't too horribly overwhelmed. They tried to set aside time each week to plan their wedding for October, but inevitably were too busy to keep it up. But now that they were close to graduating, they could afford to spend an evening planning their nuptials.

"What do you think about the music? Live band or DJ?" he asked, looking over at her. She gazed lazily back at him as she considered the options, weighing them in her mind.

"A band…would be best…I think…" She smiled as he nodded and jotted down her response. "We could…go out…and listen to local bands…if you want…I think…there's a music festival…next weekend…"

He grinned slightly as she spoke. It still amazed him how she had grown out of her stutter but kept her slow, stilted manner of speaking. He leaned over and pecked her cheek affectionately. "We should go to that for sure, maybe invite Lilly and Akira, too? It's been a while since all of us hung out together."

Her face lit up at his suggestion. Since they moved off campus together at the start of their senior year, they hadn't seen much of their friends, as buried in school work as they had been. "Yeah! That…would be…really fun…If…If you're sure…you can afford…to go out next weekend…I know…you're busy with…end of term papers…"

"It should be fine, as long as I get a paper started Friday evening and finish it Sunday evening," he reasoned, not wanting her to worry too much about his schoolwork. "It'll be worth it if we can find a wedding band, anyway."

"O…Okay…" she smiled relievedly and looked back down at the planner on his lap. "It says here…we should begin…to send out…save the dates…pretty soon…Do you…have any idea…for these cards…?"

Hisao was quiet a moment as he pondered this. He wasn't very good when it came to creative, artsy things. "We could style them like the covers of those romance novels you love so much," he said slowly, thinking as he talked. "And keep it fairly simple. Are we still taking engagement photos next Wednesday?"

"Yeah, we are…We could use one of them…for the save the dates…" Hanako suggested softly as she scrawled down his idea in the notebook. "Lilly and I…are going bridal dress shopping…tomorrow morning…"

"Are you sure I can't go dress shopping, too?" he pouted playfully, hoping but not expecting to guilt trip her into letting him tag along to the dress shop. As expected, Hanako tried to stare at him sternly, but the effect was lost on him.

"No…you can't come…It's bad luck…for the groom…to see his bride…in her dress…before the wedding…" she reminded him gently. "I'll miss you…but it's only…for a few hours…Besides…don't you…have a paper to write…?"

He sighed in resignation, and nodded. "Unfortunately that's right." He glanced over at the clock on the bedside table, and was surprised to see it was already quarter past eleven. "Hey, it's getting late. I think we should get some sleep. But we did a lot tonight." He nuzzled her neck lightly as she marked their place and closed the book.

"You're right…" She yawned delicately and placed the book on the bedside table. She rolled onto her side, dragging him along with her. "Good night, Hisao…"

"Good night, Hana." He kissed the back of her neck as he reached over to turn off the lamp. "Sweet dreams."
