Sam is currently behind the wheel of the car as Blaine is sleeping in the passenger seat. Before summer started they both swore they would go on a road trip, just the two of them during summer break. So that is how they ended up where they are now. On the open road with not a care in the world, and miles of road spread ahead of them. Sam is lightly tapping to the beat of whatever song is playing on the radio when Blaine wakes up. Groggily wiping the tiredness out of his eyes, Blaine tries to take in their surroundings. "Where are we Sam?" Blaine questions.
"I am pretty sure we are on the border of North and South Carolina." Sam replies. He looks over at Blaine and smiles fondly. Blaine had opted out of gel for at least the car ride part of the trip leaving his hair to a curly mess. Sam has to pretty much force his eyes away from Blaine and look at the road ahead of him. Then out of the corner of Blaine's eye he spots a billboard with a giant wiener on it. "YOU NEVER SAUSAGE A PLACE!(You're always a wiener at Pedro's!)" The billboard says they are 10 miles from South of the Border. Blaine has heard of this place before. It's a seedy tourist attraction with wacky souvenirs and a stereotypical mascot. He figures they both need a break from driving so he suggests they stop there.
"Hey Sam why don't we stop at that South of the Border place? The billboard said it was only 10 miles away and I figure we need a break." Blaine asks hoping that Sam agrees to stopping there instead of a random gas station. At least with South of the Border there is some entertainment to it. Sam considers it, and then agrees. Before he knows it, Sam is pulling into the parking lot of South of the Border. They unbuckle and get out of the car and the first place they go to is the restroom. After they start to wonder around the Mexico gift shop. There, Sam tries on a sombrero and mustache which has Blaine laughing so hard he started to cry a little. Blaine's manic laughter promptly has Sam in a fit of laughter too. Luckily there is no one else in the store but the person working the cash register. Otherwise there would have been strange looks from all the laughing that is happening. Sam finally takes off the get-up and they look around just a bit more. They both decide to get a little Pedro figurine so they will always remember this trip. Walking outside Sam notices all these wacky statues. One being a giant weenie dog that looks like a hot dog.
"Hey Blaine get my picture by this hot dog!" Sam exclaims looking genuinely giddy over a giant hot dog statue. Blaine looks confused for a second but when he sees Sam next to, what is in fact a hot dog statue, he laughs and gets his phone out. "Say cheese!" Blaine tells him, and Sam gives the cheesiest smiles ever. Blaine looks at the photo he just took and smiles fondly. He quickly tweets the photo to let their friends and family in Ohio know what they are up to. Blaine puts the phone back in his pocket and walks up to Sam. Sam looks at him lovingly and moves to put his arms around Blaine. He looks down at Blaine with a goofy smile and Blaine looks up mirroring his goofy smile.
"I guess we should get going." Blaine says knowing they probably wasted to much time. "I can drive if you want. I know you have been driving a majority of the time."
"Yeah that would be great if you could drive. I need to take a nap all the coffee is wearing off." Sam chuckles and releases Blaine and goes to grab his hand. Blaine accepts his hand and they walk back to the car. When they get in the car, and start driving it doesn't take long for Sam to fall asleep. As he glances at Sam's sleeping form he thinks how lucky he is to have Sam in his life. He looks back at the road and can't seem to wipe of the silly smile he has on his face from being so happy.
