Prologue
My eyes burned from the sand, scraping at my eyes angrily. Days passed by, water gone. I could barely speak, my throat so parched. No civilization anywhere, so alone. Dunes everywhere, nothing in sight. Just dunes. So many dunes. Nevertheless, I kept going. My mind told me to give up, lie down and just let death take me. But I needed to keep moving. I had to stay alive, for my family. The fire on my back radiated a small light, shrinking throughout the days. To keep my family alive, I would do anything. I think I was going mental. I keep imagining things, and when I go to my 2 hour sleep, I keep having dreams. Darkness consuming, and I'm there, laughing. A dark glint in my eye. And I would wake up, gasping. Sand kept ripping at my eye. My 2 brothers. They were somewhere out there, doing the same as I. Trying to find some help. Or maybe my other reason. Running from fear. Even more days. Now, I was hallucinating. I keep seeing other pokemon. Maybe tricks of my mind, but maybe not. They look around, and I try to call for help, but I'm to weak to reach them and to parched to speak. Maybe this was my final resting place. Maybe this is where I shall approach death.
The storm raged on. I hid in the cave I saw, trying to keep warm. Easier than expected, but of course I was a Cyndaquil so it was easy. Thunder kept raging on. I closed my eyes, trying to get sleep. "GROAAAAARRRRRR!" Weird, that wasn't a sound for thunder. I heard stomping, and opened my eyes. Ursaring. Charging a Hyper Beam. I immediately got up out of instinct, and moved to my left. The Hyper Beam just missed, but it still hit the small of my back. I let out a cry of pain. The Ursaring advanced, roaring, throwing his paws at me wildly. I dodged, keeping my mind, not going wild as the predator in front did. I ran out of the cave as I did a crazy run. The Ursaring kept at me, and I met myself at a cliff. I examined the situation frantically, to search for an escape route. I looked up, and lightning slammed downwards, towards me. And everything went black.
