One summer day, Mario was walking down the street of the metro kingdom. Rain fell around him, reflecting his inner turmoil. What did she mean? Peach rarely ever actually reciprocated his love, but this rejection hit him to hard...
Cappy leaving was the last straw. He stood in front of the tall city hall, staring at its looming height.
Climbing to the top wasnt difficult for someone as experienced as he was.
The wind and rain around him chilled him to the bone, but he knew it would soon be trivial...
Standing at the edge of the building, the ground below glistened in the rain...
No one loved him anymore, and his quest ended with nothing but grief. Thunder rumbled overhead.
He took one step, and he fell... Falling as lightning struck him, burning his body and clothes.
His vision blurred, and he hit roof tiles, his body still burning, only being quenched by the small lake he fell into.
Hoping he would die, he made no effort to swim, but was pulled out of the water by a pair of glistening wet muscles.
He didn't die.
Mario awoke in a wood and straw bed. Looking around the room, he was up on a balcony in a well decorated room. Swords, bows, and shields adorned the walls.
Leaning in the corner was the man Mario assumed saved him. He was tall, wearing a blue shirt, his dirty blond hair flowing in a unseen wind.
Mario looked to the floor and saw a pile of burnt and utterly decimated red and blue clothes.
Realizing his naked body was nearly exposed to the man in the corner, he pulled up the rough blankets around him.
The man in the corner chuckled at mario and walked out of the house.
Mario got up, draping his body with the blanket he went to the window, looking out at sprawling mountains and red roofs of the town. A sign in the distance identified the town as "Hateno Village"
