A flash of lightening illuminated the dark room and the low rumble of thunder that followed made the youngest member of the Grissom household duck under her covers.

Deciding against trying to sleep in her own bed, she grabbed Spot, the ever faithful stuffed ladybug, and made her way quickly to her parents' room. Her Butterfly nightgown flowing around her ankles as her tiny feet made a soft tapping sound on the cold wooden floors.

As the little girl slowly creaked the door open, another roll of thunder sounded from the sky making her run to her father's side of the bed. "Daddy…" she tugged on the soft covers. "Daddy… wake up"

Grissom awakened and groaned a little. Realizing it was his daughter calling him, he sat up with concern. "What is it, baby?"

A split-second later, another bolt of lightening crashed in the sky making the blue-eyed girl jump into the bed- invited or not. "I-I-I don't like storms Daddy… and neither does Spot." She held up the ladybug as if to prove this.

"Oh, Bug, come here." Gil said with compassion as he pulled his daughter into his arms and moved her so she was sitting on his lap. "You needn't worry, sweetheart."

The little girl relaxed into his warm embrace, and looked up at her father hopefully "Can we sleep in here tonight?"

Gil looked at her- with the exception of her eyes, she looked just like her mother, long slim frame…she even had the gap-toothed grin. He couldn't say 'no' even if he wanted to.

"Well, then, come on and get under the covers."

She leaped off his lap and wiggled down in the middle of the bed. Gil too slid down in the bed, and put his arm around his daughter. She happily snuggled into his chest, with Spot under her arm. Feeling safe from the storm she (and Spot) soon drifted off to sleep.

Meanwhile, Sara stirred slightly, looking at the angelic, sleeping child she asked, "Is she okay?"

"Yeah, she, and Spot of course, were scared of the storm."

Sara smirked a little at the fact he included Spot in the statement- something their daughter would be proud of. She took another moment to look at her baby before lightly kissing Grissom and moving up close to the sleeping child, gently spooning her. She slipped an arm around her daughter and rested her hand on her husband's hip.

All wrapped up together in the bed, the four Grissoms drifted off to sleep.
