An didn't really know why she was looking forward to seeing him. After all, his team would be facing hers. Just like the junior high Nationals, Fudomine was facing Shitenhouji. Her brother Kippei would ask her why she was spacing out all the time, and she would reply that she was waiting for the match.

He would always say the same thing every time she said that. "Maybe it's a good thing that the girl's team didn't make it to Nationals, if they did, you'd probably be ten times worse."

Of course, An would start hitting her brother, lightly, yelling that he shouldn't bring that up every five minutes. Kippei would start laughing, and said that losing was a part of life.

"How could you understand? You hardly ever lose." Then there would be a little talk between siblings, and Kippei would let his sister go up to her room. That's what always happens every time An's brother asks her what's on her mind. And every time, he would forget that he asked that question.

"Onii-chan, have you ever liked someone?" An closed her textbook and stared at her brother who was sitting on the floor and doing his homework.

Kippei didn't look up when he answered. "That depends, do you mean like as a friend, or like as in you want to date that person?"

"The second one."

A sigh was heard as Kippei closed his book as well and looked up. "A few times, why? Don't tell me that you're looking for boy advice from your brother."

"Do you want me to go ask mom? Or dad?"

"...Point taken. So, what's your question?"

An joined her brother on the floor and brought her knees close to her. "What's it called when you like someone, but you don't know why? And if you've only met that person a few times, and haven't really spoken to them one on one."

"Who is this person?"

The younger Tachibana frowned when she saw the protective look in her brother's eyes. "Onii-chan, don't do anything to him like you did to the other boys!"

"I was just making sure that they were appropriate for you."

"Onii-chan, one of them was Kamio-kun."

Kippei faltered for a moment. "Anyways, what his name?"

An thought it over. "I'll tell you, if you answer my question."

"Which question?"

"Kippei! Don't play dumb! What is it called, when you like someone, but you don't know why?"

"...Mom said that it's called love, An." Kippei looked at his sister's face and wasn't surprised to see that it was covered with shock. "Now, what's his name?"

"...Oshitari Kenya."

"WHAT?!" Kippei started spluttering. "How, but, he, Shitenhouji, Nationals, why?"

An sighed and pulled her knees closer. "I don't know. I've only talked to him once, and it wasn't really a date, we were just talking about stuff, like tennis, and school."

Her brother sighed again. "If you like him, then tell him." With that, he picked up his books and left.

An sat there for awhile and then left as well. "Tell him?" She muttered and left to her room.

Osaka

Oshitari Kenya sneezed.

"Are you okay, Kenya? Wouldn't want you to get sick right before Nationals."

"Shut up, Yuushi."

"Maybe that girl you like is talking about you."

Kenya choked on the water he was drinking. "What girl?! There is no girl!"

"You might be fast on the courts, but you're slow in life, Kenya."

"I'm going to hang up now."

"Just so you know, Tachibana An broke up with Kamio a few weeks ago." Yuushi hung up after he gave that interesting piece of information.

It took a few minutes for this to process through to Kenya's brain. "How does he know that it's that girl?" He shot up from his bed and stared at the team picture on his dressing table. "Koharu, you idiot!"

A/N My first (and probably last) attempt at KenyaxAn. I was bored and wanted to try a new pairing, because I don't think anyone else has done this pairing.
