"Sorry." He wiped his sweaty palms on his dark blue jeans. Staring down at her, he smiled.

"It's fine, Finn." She laughed as she picked up his hand again. "I get it, you're nervous. I am too, it's fine." He smiled at her again as she squeezed his hand in reassurance. As they made their way to the pizza shop, he couldn't help but chuckle to himself. How had he, Finn Hudson, the biggest dork in this school, hell probably in this town, land a date with Quinn Fabray herself. When they got there, he sat across from her, silently praying as he sat down. "So," She asked. "What do you want?" She smiled up at him, her long blonde locks falling onto her alabaster skin.

He imagined running his long fingers through that hair, imagining the thrill it would bring him. "What shampoo do you use?" He blurted out before he could stop himself. Idiot. Her leg that was currently rubbing against his pulled away. He frowned to himself, already missing the contact.

"Excuse me?" She asked. She tried her best to smile at him, but he could tell it was a weak effort.

Cursing at himself, he slowly got up, but not before ruining this date more. "I have to pee." She nodded, a quick okay falling out of her mouth, as she watched him stride towards the door. He slammed the door, wincing, he came back out. "Sorry." He said to one of the waitresses who yelled at him about her sensitive ears. She was beautiful, a little short, but still. Her long brown hair fell to the back of her apron, and her big full lips barred gorgeous white teeth. Snap out of it, Finn thought. He looked back at Quinn, hoping she wasn't bearing witness to this. She was typing on her phone, her head in her hands. He walked back into the bathroom. Looking at himself in the mirror, he turned on the faucet, ducking down. He splashed the cool- wait! It was boiling hot. He let out a scream that made him realize how big of a doofus he really was. Spitting out curses he never heard himself say, he turned off the faucet, drying his face. He walked back outside.

"Dude, you good?" A woman's voice said to him. Finn turned to see it was the same woman who yelled at him about ears or something.

"Yeah, i'm fine." He lied through his teeth. She study him for a second, his face growing hot as she raked her eyes over him.

"Sure, okay." She said to him, glancing over her shoulder as she walked to a different table. He shrugged his shoulders before stalking back over to Quinn. He sat down as she stood up, working like a seesaw.

"I'm sorry, Finn. I have to go, my friend Santana is really sick and she needs me."

What a lame excuse, he thought. He couldn't blame her exactly but still, it sucked. "It's fine. Do you want me to drop you there?" He knew what her answer would be, but he couldn't not try.

"I..It's fine." She stumbled. "I'll just get a cab." She kissed his cheek goodnight as she walked away. He couldn't really tell, but he swear he saw her let out a breath of relief. Wow. He closed his eyes as he went over how he had ruined this night.

"Sorry man." He looked up to see her, ears.

"It's whatever." He said as he watched her walk away to some family scanning their menus, chatting and laughing. "Sorry." He scoffed, as he walked out of the restaurant, leaving a tip though they ordered nothing. He looked inside one last time, staring at the waitress "Ears". Maybe this wasn't a total bust.
