Disclaimer: Although I am slowly acquiring more of the manga, I do not own Blue Exorcist.
AN: I've started reading the manga, but I haven't gotten too far. So this is based on the anime, although this is an AU so I suppose it doesn't matter. Reviews?
Sunlight
Her eyes were green like the leaves of the plants she had so carefully nurtured. Her hair was the color of sunlight, its golden strands warm and soft when he ran his fingers through it. He did then, brushing a lock away from her face, tucking it behind her ear. Surprised, she met his eyes before rewarding him with a shy smile that did strange things to his heartbeat. In Gehenna, smiles like that were rare. He knew smiles were common in Assiah, but demons rarely smiled, and when they did, it was usually more of a cruel sneer meant to frighten. And yet Shiemi's smiles were so bright he couldn't help but return them.
They walked together, through the fields of Gehenna, heading towards his home. A few other demons regarded them with interest, wondering what the King of Earth was doing with a tiny, frail little mortal. Amaimon held their gaze as he pulled Shiemi closer to him, letting them know she was his, and off limits. Those that didn't get the message were chased off by an angry hobgoblin. After his snack, Behemoth would run up to them, panting happily before running circles around the pair like an excited dog. Although it would have once been terrifying, the sight now drew a laugh out of Shiemi.
She didn't belong here in Gehenna, didn't belong with him. She was of Assiah, and everything about her screamed it to the world. Of course, that might have been what drew him to her in the first place. But that didn't matter now. She was his, and she was here to stay. In Gehenna, a twisted world with no sunlight, Shiemi was his own little piece of Assiah.
