a/n: This is the sequel to Hermione's Secret Crush. It's not necessary to understand this story, however it would help. This sequel is based after the song Fall To Pieces by Avril Lavigne. (words in italics are that person's thoughts)

Chapter 1: A New Start

After a Christmas break spent with her parents skiing, Hermione came back to Hogwarts. Hermione and Ron acted as if all the events that had happened before Christmas had never occurred. Classes started up the following Monday. In Snape's class, Hermione and Ron sat near each other, but not next to each other.

Hermione caught herself staring at Ron. Why am I doing this? Hermione, quit it! Quit it now! Stop! Hermione forced herself to look away. She took one more glance. QUIT! From then on Hermione tried her hardest to keep from looking at Ron. In her efforts to keep from watching Ron, she didn't realize that he was staring at her as well.

After class Hermione decided she had to talk to Ron. She grabbed his arm and told him to come with her. Hermione looked all around. She found an abandoned hallway and began, "Ron, are we going to have to keep doing this?"

"Doing what?"

"This, trying to keep ourselves away from each other?"

Ron took a moment to think about how to answer this. He took a deep breath and bit his lip. "I… uh… guess we should do something different."

"Like what?" Hermione stared deeply into Ron's eyes.

"Err… I've been meaning to ask you this since you got back…"

"What?"

"Err… um… will you… uh… willyougooutwithme"

"What, I didn't quite hear you?"

"Um… will… you… go… out… with… me…?" He spoke slowly trying to utter each word out.

Hermione smiled, "Okay."

"Huh?" Ron asked in disbelieve.

"Okay, I'll go out with you."

Ron's eyes widened and he smiled. He then hugged Hermione. After hugging, the two stared at each other with kind smiles. Ron brought Hermione's head closer to his and gave her a passionate kiss. After they finished, they left the hallway and went to their next class. When they turned the corner, the ran into Snape. They backed away a few steps and were about to go the other way, when Snape asked, "What are you two doing here?"
