These two are actually my favorite MMPR pairing, and it saddens me greatly to see so few fics for them on here, so I thought I'd share this one I wrote for an anonymous fic meme on LiveJournal.
"Man, I cannot believe you, of all people, are afraid of getting your ear pierced." Zack was practically bouncing on his toes, grinning at Jason.
Jason shrugged, arms crossed. "I'm not afraid; I just hate needles, that's all."
"Yeah, but you can like, chop a block of wood in half with your bare hands and stab monsters with a sword all the time. Seems like a little needle shouldn't bother you at all."
Jason resolutely didn't look at Zack. "Well it does, okay? Everyone's got phobias."
"Ha, not me! Nope. Nothing scares the Zack man."
Raising an eyebrow, Jason finally looked over at him. "I've seen the way you get around spiders."
The smile slipped off Zack's face and he stopped bouncing. "Yeah, well, okay. I do hate bugs."
"Irrationally so."
"No way, man. Bugs . . . some bugs can Ikill you/i, man."
"And so can some needles."
"C'mon, Jase. You don't really believe that, do you?"
Jason leveled him with such a flat stare Zack took a step back.
"Wow, you're really serious about this, aren't you?" Zack looked over to the woman who was doing the ear-piercings. She had a preteen girl in the chair at the moment and they were almost done. "Hey man, listen. If it's too much, we don't have to get it done. I just thought it'd be a neat way to show our commitment."
"Of course I want to do it, Zack." Glancing around, he uncrossed his arms, reaching down to give Zack's hand a quick squeeze. "I may not like needles, but the end result is worth a little bit of pain."
A smile lit up Zack's face and his slung his arm around Jason's shoulder. "You're really the best, Jase; have I ever told you that?"
Jason crossed his arms again, watching the girl in the ear piercing chair as she got up. He was smiling now. "Perhaps." He leaned ever so slightly into Zack. "But I never get tired of hearing it from you."
