A/N This was a headcanon for Margot Harvey, but I will be extending it into a full fanfiction :D Hope you enjoy :)
"How do I look?" Margot twirled in her pretty pink dress and almost tripped down the stairs. Lily giggled.
"Margot, it's just a Hogsmeade weekend! Who are you trying to impress?" There was a mischievous twinkle in Lily's eyes.
"No one in particular, but you never know who you'll bump into in Hogsmeade." Margot winked and flounced down the stairs leaving a confused Lily near the top.
"What's that supposed to mean?" she asked and hurried after her best friend.
"Oh, nothing," Margot said when Lily reached her. "I just would have thought you might have wanted to look nice for a certain someone." A wicked grin flashed across the Ravenclaw's face.
"Look, for the last time, I'm not interested in James!" Lily fumed.
"Oh, so you knew who I was talking about then, hmm?" Margot grinned at Lily and carried on walking again. She knew she was winding Lily up, but Margot knew that James and Lily would be perfect together.
"Drop it, Margot. I'm serious." Lily didn't look happy and Margot knew when to leave it, so she changed the subject.
"So, where do you want to go first? The Three Broomsticks? Honeyduke's? You decide." It was time to get back in Lily's good books and letting her make the decisions was a good way to start.
"Well, Honeyduke's is always good and I'd like to go to Zonko's too." Lily counted off the places on her fingers.
"Why do you want to go to Zonko's?" Margot asked. "We never go there."
"Oh, no reason," Lily said hastily and turned a deep shade of pink, clashing violently with her hair. Margot smiled knowingly and Lily glowered at her.
"It is not because James will be there, Margot," Lily said through gritted teeth as she fought the urge to attack Margot. Deep down, she knew Margot was right, she always was, but Lily would not admit to anything concerning one Mr James Potter.
"Whatever you say, Lily." Margot smiled, "I believe you." They continued walking but when they reached the Entrance Hall, Lily stopped.
"Are you okay, Lily?" Margot asked.
"Yes, I just think I might go back and change quickly." Margot raised her eyebrows, then sighed.
"Okay then. Go on." Lily smiled and ran back up the stairs. Margot sat on a bench and smiled.
I was right, she thought.
