He'd known her since she was a child. Well, not known her, exactly, but seen her. Yes, he'd seen her a million times. He'd talked to her once or twice (or perhaps more). Each time it happened when she was waiting for his kid brother to come home. He'd thought she was adorable for a child; she was innocent. Innocence was not something he was used to, other than in his little brother. But even Sasuke had begun to learn the ways of the world.

"Ita-kun!" Sakura would exclaim when she saw him in the street. He'd turn to her quietly and wait for her to catch up. Sometimes she'd help him carry groceries home, and others she'd hold his hand. He hadn't hated it as much as he'd expected. "Is Sasuke-kun home?"

"He'll be back from training soon." Itachi might say.

He remembered few of their meetings, but some he remembered very clearly. Once they sat in his backyard, waiting for Sasuke to return. Sakura was weaving the wildflowers that grew back by the pond into a crown while Itachi watched her silently. She was unusually quiet that day, and strangely enough, he'd felt uneasy. But when she finished the crown, she stood up, placing it on his head with a girlish giggle.

"There you go, Ita-kun." she said, sitting in his lap. "Why don't you make a crown?"

"I don't know how." The look on her face was priceless.

"Then I'll teach you!" And she did, laughing as his fingers fumbled inexpertly to weave the stems into one another. Once he'd finished it, he placed it on her head, slightly puzzled by the pink tint that glowed on her cheeks. "Thank you, Ita-kun."

Another time, she'd actually come inside and met his parents. Fagaku paid her little mind as he left for work (he had the late shift that day), while his mother offered a 'Pleased to meet you. Stay as long as you want.' sort of greeting before she slipped out the door to do some errands.

It was about an hour later when Itachi apologized for his brother's lateness. Sakura shook her head. "It's okay. You're fun, too." Again, he was puzzled.

As he watched her now from the corner of the club, she was anything but innocent. She was dancing with guys that she hardly knew, he thought, and enjoying it. She was gyrating and shaking like no one he'd ever seen, a sheen of sweat glowing on her revealed stomach in the strobe lights. As her hips ground against another's, he decided he'd had it. This was not the Sakura he remembered, the innocent little girl that called him Ita-kun.

Itachi stood, and behind him, Kisame spoke. "Where are you going?" His words were slurred, and his breath smelled heavily of sake. Itachi, at least, could hold his liquor. He felt a little tipsy, but that's what he'd wanted before he made his move.

"I'll be back." he said simply.

And he made his way over to her, through the mob of dancing bodies, glaring at the guy she was currently dancing with behind her back. He slowly moved away, saying something about getting a drink. Itachi made his move then, coming from behind her. His hand held her hip, and he leaned forward to whisper in her ear. "This isn't like you, Sakura-chan."

Her green eyes met his black ones, and she never stopped dancing. "It is now, Ita-kun." Her words sent shivers down his spine. She'd known he was there all along. Dancing like she had, was that a plot? Itachi didn't have time to think. She turned, putting her arms around his neck, and continued to dance, none too far away. Smirking, he bent his head and captured her full lips in his. Perhaps he had caused the loss of her innocence.
