A/N: I found this in my files and decided to clean it up & post it. It's not that great, but it'll do, I guess. It's quite short.

Disclaimer: Congratulations to Mrs. J.K. Rowling for thinking of something I didn't!

Books

Bloody Books.

Whatever does she possibly see in them?

It's always "Not now, Ron! I need to finish this chapter!" or "Just one more page, Ronald! Honestly!"

Except I'm afraid that if I give her that luxury, I'll never see her again.

She hides herself behind mounds and mounds of novels, dictionaries and encyclopedias, and skips meals to catch up on some "light" reading in the library. At this rate, she's going to starve herself!

This has clearly gone too far.

…Of course, I always end up bringing her food.

Bloody Books.

Seventh year has come and she hasn't changed in the slightest. She still stays up past midnight trying to fully comprehend the twelve uses of Dragon's blood. Her knapsack overflows with all the latest titles.

…Of course, which I offer to carry.

Bloody Books.

I realize that I can't give her the entirety of Morgana's history or recite Shakespeare. I can't tell her when Hogwart's was first created or name every Cheering Charm assigned.

However, I'm always a shoulder to cry on and an ear prepared to listen and a warm embrace always open and at the ready.

Bet you those bloody books can't do that, eh?

Maybe one day Hermione will see that…

A/N: Okay, so I'm going to promote this once again! Please, please, PLEASE check out the challenge on my profile! It would be mucho appreciated!
