"Well, well, well, I never thought I'd live to see the day where Draco Malfoy comes without his army of house elves", Ginevra Arks smirked, casually leaning against her bedroom door

. "And I never thought Gin Arks would actually call me here to talk", he said loftily.

"Oh, don't get all Ice Dragon on me, Malfoy. It never really worked well. And its Ginevra not Gin", she snapped.

"What is the matter really, Gin? We both know that I've been calling you Gin ever since second year and you're just saying that to stall. Look at you. You're actually fidgeting with your bedroom door. This actually leads us to a very crucial question. Why are you standing there instead of seating here?", Draco asked, patting the bed beside him. "How can you resist it?" he asked again.

"It's because I unlike Pansy have more than one brain cell", Gin answered looking deadpanned.

"Don't flatter yourself, Arks. It doesn't become of you." Draco retorted.

"So, I assume that you call me here to tell me all about your wonderful summer with your new 'family', Draco grinned which is a rare form considering his usual arrogant smirk.

"It's not my fault that cousin Fleur decided to get married to Bill Weasley", Gin spat out.

"How was it?' he asked her softly.

"It was….well, everyone was all close, you know like a family. It made me miss my sister even more." Gin whimpered.

"You mean your sister, Arianna?" Draco asked, raising a perfect eyebrow.

"Yes, who else, Rinevra?" she snapped.

Gin had two sisters and they were very close. Hogwarts students knew that they never go anywhere without each other. So it was very shocking when Arianna disappeared without telling both her sisters. Arianna went missing before summer holidays. Now, even mentioning her name in front of Gin has become a taboo. Gin and Rinevra don't speak much after what happened.

"Excuse me, Draco", Gin said as she hurried to the bathroom.

Draco heard the water flowing and the almost inaudible sobs. He sighed, regretting that he mentioned Arianna's name. Gin appeared out of the bathroom a few minutes. Her eyes were puffy and red.

"Sorry, I knew that was a tad bit weird ", she said smiling wryly.

" No, it is I who should apologize", Draco said indignantly.

To his utter astonishment, Gin started laughing. "I would have kissed you if that thought wasn't so disturbing, Draco", Gin said smirking at him when he blushed.

He quickly composed himself and leaned against the bed. "I was just trying to help", Draco said softly and looked at Gin in the eye.

She looked down, her hair covering her eyes and said "I know".

Draco let the silence stretch between them. "You better go. I have to pack for tomorrow", she said giving him a bright smile. Draco knew she was only doing that to assure him. But she knew he can't be fooled. He didn't say anything as he walked out of her room leaving behind a very confused Gin.

P/S: You will know why Gin is confused a bit later in the story but until then………….. Pls review!!
