I'm surprised that no one has done this before. Especially since no one really knows Petey's true origins other than he's a mutant.
Petey's Origin's
Once upon time, a few years ago actually, on a far off island there was a field of piranha plants. They were just your basic ordinary piranha plants. Nothing special about them at all. They weren't even the kind that spat fire.
Among these pipe dwelling floras there were other creatures. There had to be naturally. If there weren't then the poor piranha plants would starve to death. One of the species that shared the island with the vicious plants was the rare Amazy Dazee.
One day one of the Amazy Dazees was dared by it's friends to go up to one of the piranha plants and poke it with a stick while it was sleeping. Of course the flower didn't want to do this. But it's friends made rude clucking noises and called it chicken, so in the end it was forced to do the dare.
It was high noon and all the piranha plants were asleep in the sun. The poor Amazy Dazee, scared out of it's wits, approached the nearest one. It was holding a stick that it had found, and with one quick jab it poked the sleeping beast.
A stupid thing to do of course. The piranha plant woke in a rage and before the Amazy Dazee could make a run for it, it was snapped up in the jaws of the man-eating plant. Then the beast went back to sleep after having that light snack.
But a strange sensation from inside the plant's gut woke it up again. Indigestion? No. Eating that Amazy Dazee was causing a mutation to occur in the piranha plant. Frightened by the change the plant tried to vomit the flower back up. But it was too late.
With a loud crack the pipe the piranha plant was in split asunder. Normally when a piranha plant is removed from it's pipe that kills it. Not this time though. With a look of amazement the plant noticed that he, for he was a male by the standards of his species though outsiders couldn't tell, had grown pseudo legs.
The mutation hadn't stopped though; he was still growing. His head became larger than his body, and petals sprouted out around his bulbous cranium. His leaves also grew and widened; they became pseudo arms. Finally his abnormal growth stopped. He stood roughly nine feet tall.
The mutant piranha plant jumped for joy waving his leaves up and down. Then he got a huge surprise. He didn't come back down. He looked at the ground below him and realized with a shock that he was flying. But how? He stopped waving his leaves to scratch his head in confusion. This caused him to stop flying and fall to the earth.
It then entered his dim mind that waving his leaves about was what made him fly. The leaves were not only pseudo arms but pseudo wings as well. Crowing in delight he flapped his leaves again and took to the sky. When he was high enough, he gazed at another island that was far off across the ocean. He wondered if he could get there.
With a nod of his oversized noggin he decided to try. He would try to reach that island. He would become something greater than his pipe-bound relations. Then it hit him. He needed a name. He picked Petey because it sounded nice; especially when placed in front of piranha.
Now he had a name and course of action. All he needed now was some pants or other form of undergarment. Because all piranha plants, pipe-bound or not, need to be covered up down below. So off he flew. To the other island. To discover his greatness, and find some underwear.
I like Petey. I think he's kind of cute and I find him amusing in the spin-off games. Please review.
