So this is set somewhere in the episode 'The Power of Three'. It's really random, but it was fun to write. Enjoy :)
The exhausted man shuffled into the dimly lit room and slumped onto the bed with a sigh of relief.
"I think he's asleep now," he whispered to his ginger haired wife who lay next to him.
"Finally," Amy breathed.
Amy sunk her head back into her pillow and moved around until she was in a comfortable position. She peered over to her husband to see his head completely covered by the blankets and grinned as she reached over Rory to turn his lamp off.
This was how their nights usually went nowadays. Late nights and disturbed sleep is just how it went.
Living in Leadworth had never been more interesting, and yet it was still not 'normal'. Amy didn't like to think about having to choose a life. When travelling with The Doctor in the early days, she never thought she'd have to. It played on her mind and she knew it did so with Rory too, but it wasn't until a little while ago when the thought was voiced and the choice became more real. But for now, they were stuck babysitting the oldest child in the universe and all those troubling things ceased to exist.
As the two lay there in the darkness slowly breathing, there was a creak that came from the end of their bed. Amy stirred. There was another little creak, then another.
Bang!
Amy jumped and Rory groaned, still as motionless as a rock.
"Oops! Sorry! Didn't mean to wake you," the man at the foot of the bed whispered innocently.
Amy reached over Rory to turn the lamp on. Squinting at him from the sudden glow she mumbled, "What are you doing Doctor?"
The Doctor clumsily picked up the piece of furniture which he had banged his foot into and placed the photo frame back on it neatly.
"I was just coming to collect the cubes. I was getting bored so I thought that if I got enough, I could build a little cubby house out of them!" The Doctor beamed at Amy as though he just had the best idea since sliced bread.
Rory (who was still completely covered in sheets) moaned, "I thought you were asleep. I saw you sleeping." He dragged out the last word in annoyance.
"Well I was, but you know Timelords. We don't need much and I'm up and alive again!" The Doctor threw his hands up in the air but the only response he got was Amy collapsing back into her comfy position.
He placed his hands awkwardly by his side, "I'm assuming it's too early and you want to go back to sleep. OK fine. I'll keep quiet. But boy, are you two in for a treat when you wake up! It's going to have windows and everything!"
The excited man practically skipped out of the room and then popped his head back to say, "Oh I hope you don't mind me rearranging the living room."
Amy and Rory moaned loudly in response.
"Ok, great thanks! Nighty night," the man in the bow tie responded right before he turned off the lamp and let the tired couple go back to sleep.
