Fai POV

Kuro-rin sits under a vast oak, staring up with one of his brooding faces. He won't want to be disturbed. The day is too nice for that.

I go sit down next to him, looking up into the spreading branched with a catch-all smile.

"Penny for your thoughts?" I ask.

"Go away." He replies. I turn to face him. He looks at me with those inscrutable eyes of his.

I just smile.

There is a pause that lasts so long I begin to think he'll not answer.

"I was trying to decide who was more like a child, you or the boy." He answers at length, his gaze back up in the tree. I flash a momentary mischievous smile.

"Why?" I ask, the image of innocence.

"Because I was thinking about it." He replies without really answering.

"Why?" I ask again.

"I don't know why I needed to think about it. You're obviously much more childish." He growls at me.

I stand and look down at him with a thoughtful gaze.

"Yes, but though I may be more childish, he is much more like a child…" I quietly say.

I walk away from him, wondering if he is watching me still.
