A/N: A recent obsession :) Bravo to me for staying up at 4AM to write this.

"Here." John looked up from his position on the couch. He wasn't expecting anyone to make conversation today. Not that he wanted conversation anyways. Kitty Pryde stood beside him, holding out what looked like his laptop. The laptop he chucked in the trash when it stopped working.

"What the hell?" He questioned, eyebrow raised. His gaze on her always made her annoyed, and this was no different. She threw it into his lap lightly, but he still coiled slightly, and his gaze turned fiercer. "Watch it, Kitten. The Little General's down there, you know. I threw this in the trash for a reason." He glances at it without any attachment. It was how he looked at everything as far as she was concerned.

"I fixed it for you." Even though John bothered her till no end, she was there when he stood abruptly from the library table and chucked his laptop into the trash bin, eyebrows furrowed and lips whispering fierce words. Had Professor X not been amusing himself with the comics in the newspaper, it was a safe bet to assume the broken technological device would have been lit in flames. As for Kitty's kind gesture, well, she's never had the chance to pull apart a laptop before.

John's lips curled. "I don't need your help," he tossed it to the other side of the couch and resumed his channel surfing. "Go away." Kitty gave him a bitter look, but phased through the wall she came. Knowing John that was the closest she'd get to thanks. And, well, she was okay with that.
