They stared at each other with longing eyes. He whispered,
"Please don't go…please don't leave me."
Tears fell from her eyes as she said shakily,
"I have to…I can't stay. I can't stay and look at her and know what we've done to her. I have to go."
He reached out and wiped her tears away gently, wishing he could kiss her pain away. He longed to just take her into his arms and tell her that everything would be alright…but he couldn't. He didn't have the right and they both knew that everything would not be alright. So he let her walk away…let her walk out of his life, tears pricking his piercing emerald eyes.
