Two boys. One girl.
The girl is caring and sweet, yet stern. A just leader watching over her family. Helpful and generous. One of the best at what she does.
She wants adventure and that's what the first boy offers. ("Let's break into Disneyland." "Travis, are you sure we won't get caught?" She asks, although she shivers with anticipation at the thought of being caught. "Trust me, Katie." And she does.)
But when their adventures tire her out, she wants something stable. That something is the second boy. (He lets her play it safe when she doesn't want to take a chance, usually without complaint. He holds her tight. "I love you, Katie." "I love you too, Connor." Guiltily, she thinks to herself, 'I also love your brother.')
Of course she goes back to craving adventure pretty soon. It always goes like this; back-and-forth. Adventure, stability. Stability, adventure.
She loves them both. She wants them both. She knows she can't have both.
But she just can't decide.
