Giving a Little Back
By: The Confused One
Disclaimer: Nope. Sadly I don't own anything to do with the Law and Order franchise, period. No money is being made. Please don't sue the poor college student. She doesn't have anything to give you. Thanks.

Summary: This is a short little scene for right after "Jones". For some reason, I felt like Bobby had something to make up for to Alex for getting her to play that game with Talbott. I just felt so bad for her, even with the "Wash off the slime" line. This is after they've come out of the interrogation room. The dust has settled.
A/N: Well, it's short and I hope nice enough. I didn't really want to do anything long. I just wanted to make a post ep type thing where we can see their bond reestablished.
Feedback: I love feedback. In fact, since I'm a writer, I live for feedback. Please send it to Charmed1500@yahoo.com Thanks.
Archive: Yes to Amorous Intent. Anyone else…let me know where it's going.
Bobby sat down at his desk, wishing he could procrastinate starting on the Talbott reports a little longer. With a sigh, he leaned back in his chair some, letting go of some of the stress the case had caused. Sometimes even he forgot how draining it could be.
But what a game it had been. The shattered glass in the interrogation room was proof at how well the game had been played. He suddenly felt a twinge of guilt. They had played the game. It was one thing when he did it. He was the only one who had to deal with the repercussions of his mind games. He'd never admit it, but he really didn't enjoy dragging others into the games. They shouldn't have to deal with it. Sitting up again, he looked across his desk at his partner, who was busy typing. He had strong-armed her into playing the least fun part of the whole thing, and despite how well it worked, he still felt guilty about it.
He suddenly realized that he was staring and had been caught. Bobby decided to take advantage of having her attention. Meeting her eyes, he asked, "You OK?"
Alex visibly relaxed a little now. She looked confused now. She asked her own questions, "Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"
Bobby took a deep breath. He leaned forward a little bit before answering, "Talbott."
Alex seemed to relax completely now. Giving him a smile, Alex assured him, "I know. I promise. I'm fine."
Bobby smiled. Having her smile was a very good thing in his book. He began again, "I wanted to make sure, sure you knew. I wouldn't have had you do it…"
Alex smiled again. Breaking in, she assured him, "I told you. I know. It's really OK. The guy's a pig sure, but I've endured worse."
Bobby shook his head. Catching her gaze again, he replies, "You shouldn't have had to."
Alex gave him a grateful smile. She instantly replied, "Thank you."
Giving her a half smile now, Bobby replied, "I don't know if I told you, but you were good. Very good."
Giving him another smile, Alex pulled out her chair and stood up. Grabbing their coats, she replied, "It's two, and I'm hungry. Tell you what. How about you feed me, and we can call it even."
Bobby smiled brightly as he stood up. Taking his coat from her, he agreed, "I think I can manage that."
Grabbing her keys and heading towards the door, Alex retorted, "Thought you could."
