(A/N: I got this idea when I was reading The Last Olympian, which I finished last night. I think there was some line about Luke being Annabeth's hero. This is sort of Luke/Annabeth…but kind of not. This is also my first Percy Jackson fan fic, so I'm sorry if it's out of character.)
Hero
Luke had once promised Annabeth that he would protect her.
He promised to fight monsters for her.
He promised that she would never have to be afraid again.
He promised to be her hero.
Annabeth believed him, and for a while, he kept his promise.
Annabeth always felt safer when he was around.
But now, everything was different. Luke wasn't protecting her from monsters, he was a monster.
It was ironic, in a way. Luke always wanted to shield Annabeth from harm, but now he was the one putting her in danger.
Luke had once promised Annabeth that he would protect her.
But now he was the one she needed protecting from.
