"Alright Quill, I need you to calm down." Rocket locked his paws onto Peter's collar and pulled the Terran close. "If you screw up, there's no going back, it's the end of everything."
"I know Rocket, I just..." Peter bit his lip and looked away, he was far to nervous, this wasn't like him at all.
"How sure are you Quill?"
"About 12%"
"Well, that's better than 11%"
Rocket released Peter and paced around a bit scratching his own head. The two sat in a tense silence before Drax entered the room drawing attention from them both.
"Imbecile Terran, everything is prepared, we wait only for you."
"Oh man, I don't know if I'm ready for this Rocket!"
"Calm down this is no time to get cold feet!"
"It's quite warm in this room, are you suffering from a circulation issue in your extremities?"
Peter and Rocket both dropped their heads into their hands, neither honestly wanting to explain anything to him. Not that they would have had the time as a knock sounded at the door and Denarian Dey entered.
"Star-lord everyone's waiting, come on."
Peter couldn't put it off, he swallowed his nerves as Rocket reached out and straightened his bow tie, and flattened his shirt. They stood and followed the Nova officer and the Destroyer out of the room.
The music started suddenly, startling Peter back into the present. His mind was clouded, he couldn't stop his mind from going to the darkest of places. To the worst possible conclusions, he honestly didn't think this out. Gamora had agreed though, she could've said no, she could've called him an idiot and shot him down.
Yet, here he was, turning to watch her walk down the aisle, in a beautiful white gown he never could have imagined her in. Her hair was tied up, tasteful strands hanging loose to frame her face. Her face which needed no make-up, the star light overhead highlighting the emerald of her flesh perfectly.
"Wow."
She smiled at his lack of words coming to a stop beside him, her eyes danced over him taking in the tuxedo he insisted on wearing. Apparently they were only a tradition on earth. The ceremony began with the two guardians standing, hands clenched together yearning to get it over with. Neither one was the type to sit still for long and this particular Xandaran minister was long winded.
"And now, the bride and groom will exchange vows."
Gamora shifted from foot to foot, more nervous than he had ever seen her before. She was silent for a few moments before meeting his eyes and in a shaky and soft voice she spoke.
"I believe, I despise most things in this universe. However I never truly despised you."
Peter was filled with warmth at that, it was the closest she had ever come to saying she loved him. He tried to keep a steady voice as he began his.
"Gamora, you are the most awesome person I have ever known in my entire life. I vow to protect you from danger. And I don't care if I have to fight an ultimate fighter, or a bear, or him" He turned and pointed at Drax "Or your crazy fake dad Thanos. I would take them all down. I'm getting mad right now even telling you! I wanna spend the rest of my life, every minute with you, and I am the luckiest man in the galaxy."
He knew most of what he said was senseless rambling, but he never imagined he would be here marrying Gamora, the sexy bad ass.
"Then, by the power vested in me, by Nova Prime. I now pronounce you man and wife! You my now kiss the bride."
As they kissed Peter, smiled inwardly. 12% nothing, he was definitely 100% positive that he loved this woman and that was all that mattered.
A/N: So I've been watching through Parks and Rec which has Chris Pratt in it, and in one episode his character gets married and these are technically his actual vows, just tweaked a bit to fit the story. They seemed to fit with Peter talking to Gamora so this got in my head and I had to write it.
