Love is never easy. His dad's words rang through his ears once again. Be careful who you give your heart to; they won't always give it back. It was hard though, with this beautiful creature leaning over him, eyes half shut in passion and lips swollen from their current battle for dominance. How could he not hand over his heart and everything else he had? Really, that would be like telling his lungs to stop breathing, or his blood to stop flowing. Denying this man anything would be impossible. Blaine let his eyes slip down to Kurt's lips again and then flicked them back up, getting caught in his ridiculously warm gaze. They smiled and, as one, moved forward again. This time though, the kisses were gentler, each taking and giving equally.
Blaine didn't think he could ever get over the way Kurt made him feel. The flutter in his heart when their eyes met, the way his cheeks flushed when their hands brushed accidentally, the uncontrollable smile when Kurt stood just a tad closer than was strictly necessary. There was no doubt in his mind that this was what it felt like to be in love. It was both exhilarating and terrifying, and, as he caught Kurt's eye again, he was convinced the other boy felt it too. Blaine's stomach fluttered as the other's hands began to trail up and down his back and slowly ran his own fingers along Kurt's shoulders, down his arms, and back up again; still they kept their eyes locked. There was so much weight in this moment of shared lust that the air around them seemed to grow heavier, suffocating. Kurt was the first to crack and, as Blaine had done before, glanced quickly at the boy's lips and back up. Needing no further encouragement Blaine leaned forward and captured his lips again. And when Kurt kissed him back there was something different, something… electrifying. As though sensing the mood change below, someone in a room above them turned up their music.
"How fitting," Blaine smirked against Kurt's mouth as the other boy laughed breathlessly. "It's like they know." Their lips met again, although this time reality seemed to be playing at the edges of their minds. It was late. They had classes in the morning. Slowly the tension around them began to soften. Promises of tonight and now were replaced with ones of tomorrow and forever. Blaine found himself grinning and sighed happily when Kurt slid a hand through his curls before leaning back into couch. They relished these moments when it was just the two of them. No crazy classmates demanding their attention, or up tight teachers who made it their mission to let every student know what they thought about their relationship. No distractions from this moment of calm togetherness. They basked in the steady warmth of the other and knew that, although many things have been left unsaid, and issues needed to be worked out, they would always have these moments to look back on.
