The locals continued glaring.

"Well now, ain't that a gorram shame!" The captain's smirk was worried and dangerous. Jayne was confused. Wash was laughing uncontrollably. "Stranger, you got some nerve to wear a brown coat an' pretend you don't know what that means on Unification Day."
The Doctor sputtered out "My companion and I—"
Mal purpled as his crew sniggered quietly.
