Ponyboy was walking to school with Two-bit. Sun was up and the sky was blue that day. As he got closer to the school he saw kids like him walking towards the building. It was a large two story building with a large flagpole with an American Flag on the top.
When he got to the front door, he and Two-bit parted, he had other classes to go to. Ponyboy walked to homeroom and sat in the back of the room as usual. But he wasn't alone; his school friends would come and sit around him.
But they weren't your usual friends…they were strange. With him and his school friends, there was no greaser or soc side, just friends pretty much. It was nice not to have to pick sides with them.
First came in Sally, she was a smart yet strange girl. Always wore long skirts and blouses, with boots for some reason.
People would say she was a freak of nature, at random times she would have "visions" as everyone would call it. But he didn't mind them.
"Good Morning Ponyboy" she said with a smile.
Pony said good morning and then Paul came in. He was a strong guy and people feared him because he looked like a pro-wrestler or boxer. But he was a total soft on the inside. He was sweet and nurturing to his little sisters and his mom. His dad passed away when he was five. "Morning guys."
As they talked about unimportant things, the last member of their little pack came in. Becky was a tom boy at heart and loves to cause trouble. She was fun to hang out with but sometimes she could be scary enough to make anyone run in fear, even Paul.
They all sat down and talked for a bit until the homeroom teacher did roll call. Becky noticed that one of the guys was throwing paper balls at Ponyboy.
"Socs" she thought. When one of them stood up to say here for roll call, she snagged a foot her under his and tripped him. The whole class laughed.
Ponyboy smiled and tried to hold back his laughter. Lucky the teacher didn't see Becky do it and just told the boy to sit down.
Ponyboy couldn't have asked for better friends.
At lunch Sally eyes turned bright green, "I see…paperballs…and laughing…"
"Sally that happened this morning…."
"Oh my God my prediction came true!"
