"Berry," I yelled, slamming the door shut behind me as I stomped into the apartment. I couldn't help it, I was livid. I looked into her bedroom and, not finding her, stomped off towards the bathroom. "Where the hell-"

The amount of blood on the floor was dizzying on its own but what stopped me was the small body it surrounded. I fell to my knees, one hand dialing 911 and the other bringing her to me. I could barely get out a coherent sentence to tell the operator where I was but I choked it out, letting the phone fall and wrapping both arms around her lifeless body. And that's how the paramedics found me, covered in blood and clutching Rachel's body.
