The sun shone brightly in the sky, the wind blowing gently into the silent square. People from all over had gathered to witness the execution of Portgas D. Ace. The weakened flame wielder was knelt on the rebuilt execution tower in Rouge Town. The people below all looked excited as the Marine's either side of Ace prepared to kill him with a slash of a sword. The marine's were surprised as the ground beneath them suddenly disappeared and then their consciousness faded as they hit the ground.

Ace looked up in surprise, his black eyes scanned the crowd until they came on an angry figure stalking towards the marine's. His eyes then scanned the rest of the area, it was then he noticed Whitebeard and his crew heading towards him with Shanks and his crew infront. Luffy tore through the Marine's and leapt up to his brother, grabbing his weakened sibling and leaping back down again. Ace had no time to dodge as a group of 5 swords came towards him, Luffy had turned away to engage some enemies at the side but he noticed the silence and moved without even looking.

Ace opened his eyes as he felt some sort of fluid drip onto his face, with tear filled eyes, Ace looked up to see his little brother standing infront of him with arms outstretched and 5 swords piercing his body. Silence swept the area until a yell sounded from Shank's. "LUFFY!" The red haired captain cried.

Luffy staggered and growled. "Only I can kill my brother, so stay the hell away from him." Luffy, then, with one move, blew all of the enemies back, they all landed in a heap, unconscious.

Luffy coughed blood and, as if in slow motion, he fell. Ace dived, not caring at the pain he was in. "Ace." Luffy's voice wavered. "You should see the look on your face.."

"Luffy.. Why did you..?" Ace whispered, putting pressure on the wounds as he trembled.

"I don't know.. My body just moved, there was no time to think." Luffy coughed again, blood dripping down his chin. Ace felt his anger build, the flame wielder had never felt this before. It was like liquid fire, spreading through his veins and making his body steam. Ace roared in fury, the painful sound echoing through the silent square. As he did so, flames sprouted from every direction and burnt everything in its path.

Luffy coughed again. "You are my older brother, Portgas D. Ace." Luffy paused, blood spilling from his lips.

"You have to stop talking, its making the poison go faster!" Ace cried urgently as he calmed down.

"Ace. Listen to me for once. You have to calm down and think rationally, if you don't get out of here, you'll be captured again. Listen to me, listen. You have to leave." Luffy whispered as his breathing slowed. Luffy then turned his head toward Whitebeard who looked genuinely sad. "Take him and go. I can hold them off for a while. You have to leave me here. GET GOING." Luffy shouted.

Silence reigned again as Luffy felt into silence, visibly struggling to stay awake. "You heard the man. Lets go, Ace." Whitebeard murmured gently. Ace ignored his Captain for the first time in his life and kept his brother near him. Ace heard Whitebeard growl and looked up, his eyes were filled with tears and he was trembling.

"Please." Ace whispered hoarsely. In all his years of living, Portgas D. Ace had never pleaded with anyone and yet, as he looked tearfully at his captain, he did so. Whitebeard gave him a smile, kind and gentle like he only was with Ace.

"We will not allow him to die. Shanks, will you and your best medic help me?" Whitebeard turned towards Shanks, who nodded. Ace smiled.

They would not allow the future King of Pirates to die.

Authors Notes: Just a short oneshot which wouldn't change no matter how I tried to fill it out. It's a bit short and kind of bad but yeah. Leave your reviews all, tell me what you think..
