It started with a wish.
A young girl and her sister playing with their dolls, way past their bed time, laughed and giggled merrily.
They suddenly felt a strong energy drawing them to their window and peeked to see what it was. They watched mesmerized as a shooting star sailed across the sky.
Their father had put them down over an hour ago so imagine his surprise when he walked into their rooms to see them by the window pointing to something outside.
Sensing him they both simultaneously turned to face him and beckoned him over.
With large steps he closed the gap between them to see what the fuss was about. A chill ran down his spine alerting him of potential danger. Then he sees it. A shooting star sailing across the sky with mesmerizing hints of colour.

He was sitting in his office by the fire with a tumblr in his hand drowning in despair at the recent threat to his family - especially his daughter.
He could feel it as soon as it broke through the atmosphere. An instant chill ran down his spine and his hackles began to rise.
Something big.
Something strong.
Something powerful was headed their way.
He could also hear heavy footsteps coming his way. Soon three bodies filled the entrance of his doorway.
"Did you feel it?" His sister asked nervously biting her lip. Her senses were on high alert and her nerves shot.
"Don't be daft Freya," her younger brother snapped his brown eyes shifting in and out of focus. Whatever had just entered the Earths atmosphere had his senses going crazy. All that power was driving him mad.
"Kol," His older brother warned gritting his teeth soon after. The power was driving him insane too. It made the usually immaculate man want to scratch at his skin. It also had his mouth salivating.
"Klaus have to bloody well dead to not feel it," Kol replied ignoring Elijah.
"A little redundant don't you think? Considering that I am in fact dead?" Klaus asked tilting his head to the side amusement shinning in his blue/green orbs.
To the untrained eye you'd think that he was unaffected by whatever was causing their senses to go on overdrive. But if you looked very closely you'd see his frame shake fractionally ever so often from the power emitting from the unknown source.
"The point is every living, dead and undead thing felt it. I'd go as far as to say even humans felt it as useless as they are," he muttered his eyes darting all over the room.
"I'll try not to take offense to that," a voice said drawing their attention to woman standing in the door with her hair tossled every which way and her pyjamas askew, showing just a sliver of caramel skin.
"Keelin you're supposed to be in bed," Freya said turning to face her girlfriend.
"I couldn't sleep especially with the surge I felt," Keelin explained stepping further into the room.
"She even felt it," Kol said pointing to the young lady.
"But she's not completely human," Klaus pointed out his eyebrows raised.
"All this bickering is not helping. What are we going to do about this?" Elijah asked feeling on edge.
"Is it friend or foe? And what is it doing here?" Elijah asked.
His lips pulled back from his teeth and his eyes glittered gold.

GLORIA
The sky up above turned a dark hue of grey. Cumulonimbusclouds gathered, filling the sky by the second.
Mothers tucked their children in bed and told stories filled with wonder to draw the children's attention away from the brewing storm.
Shop owners ushered the last of their customers out the doors of their stores and closed up for the rest of the night. Animals flew, ran, sprung, trotted and slithered to safety sensing the coming storm.
Rain soon poured down heavily on the villages and gale winds blew all across the land.
In the distance dogs barked and howled while the sky lit up bright and the sound of thunderresounded through the air.
The cause of the chaos taking place in Gloriawas in the palace on the hill that over looked the Kingdom of Gloria and the jungle surrounding it which had small villages stretched out for miles.
"I don't want to marry him!" She yelled feeling outraged and betrayed.
The wind outside picked up feeling her wrath. Trees swayed violently and windows rattled as the gale winds continued to blow across the land.
"Control yourself Bonnie," her father boomed. A crack of lightening followed suit after his command.
Bonnie lifted her chin. An act of defiance. She was challenging his authority and her father did not like it one bit. Rudy's jade eyes that matched his daughters' narrowed. He allowed a fraction of his power to engulf the room as a warning. Bonnie released her own to match her fathers infuriating the man more.
"Do not play a game you cannot win little girl," her father's voice was cold making a chill run down the young woman's back.
If his daughter wanted to power play he'd indulge her.
Bonnie knew that she was taking a risk. A big one. She has not yet come into her full power and she still had a few years ahead to come until she would and her father knew that. So until that time came Rudy's power would remain unmatched.
The air between them began to thin and the heady scent of his power made Bonnie sway on her feet. Bonnie knew she could not win against him and she really didn't want to fight against her own father but she had to get her point across.
They didn't let up. They hadn't even noticed when the door swung open and Sheila walked in. Sheila's eyes moved from her granddaughter then to her son and back.
She had just arrived at the palace to have dinner with her son and her granddaughter . Much to her surprise clouds gathered at a rapid pace and a huge storm followed with tempestuous winds that almost upturnt her carriage on the journey. This only meant that they were going at each other's throats. It was to be expected they had done this dance before and it wasn't pretty.
Considering that the nuptials were close might have been a catalyst to their moods but never had she imagined walking in to see the two people that she loved and cherished each other harming one another so deeply.
It weighed heavily on her heart and the elderly woman and former queen sighed.
"Bonnie," she said gently.
Immediately the young princess felt ashamed for being caught. She could argue that it was from being caught than for being ashamed about what she'd done. But she knew she'd look back to this day disapproving that she'd treated her father with such blatant disrespect.
Her magic recoiled. Instantly the storm outside came to a stop.
Bonnie inwardly hung her head in shame. She had been taught not to openly show her shame. The training was ingrained which was why she stood with her head held high but her eyes showed it all.
The last thing she wanted was for her grandmother to see her openly defying and she had to begrudgingly agree that what she had done was disrespectful on some level too.
The young girl stood unsteadilyon her feet but refused to take a seat like her body was begging her to do.
Although Bonnie had recoiled Rudy never let up still feeling irritated by his daughters audacity to try and force him into submission.
"Rudy," Sheila warned her gaze disproving.
It amazed her how her son could speak and show his disdain for Bonnie's stubbornness so openly when he was just the same.
Rudy did not listen still staring at the young princess.
"I am King. I rule these lands and you will treat me with the respect that comes with having the title," he said his eyes flashed bright emerald with shocks of gold.
Bonnie bit back a retort. Her father may be king but he did not show it. He allowed the smaller kingdoms to twist his arm and demanded his daughters hand in marriage for a treaty. What made matters worse was that he allowed it. Bonnie understood that it was all too keep the peace but she wasn't going to be strong armed into a marriage. A marriage without love.
Bonnie couldn't understand how things had gotten to this point. The whole realm used to be controled by her family and her family alone. As time went on there was division amongst the people and as time grew so did the division. They couldn't understand why one family could be in charge of the whole realm.
"Do I make myself clear?" He asked.
"Crystal," she said forcing her eyes to stay on her father and not roll heavenward.
She had to make her father understand. This was not what she wanted.
"But I do not love him. I do not want to be married to a man I do not love. What if we don't like the same music or share the same beliefs or what if I hate the way he chews? Or has no table manners?"She shuddered.
"This has nothing to do with what you want. This wedding is going to bring all kingdoms together. This is a step towards the right direction. This merger... your marriage will be good for all of us," he said, resolve set in his tone.
"Well I don't see it that way. I see marriage as something sacred. It's a step that you take with someone you love and love alone. I do not love him dad," she stressed.
"This is not about love this is about our people. You have duties that you need to fulfill," he said his voice calm but his features stern.
"I didn't ask to be a princess. I only just turned twenty. I want to live a normal life," Bonnie stressed willing her father to see it her way for once.
"Mom wouldn't let me..." she started.
Sheila sighed. She knew where this was going any time Bonnie brought her up it would only ever go one way and it was never really good.
"That's enough! Don't bring her into this. I am the King. My word here is law whatever I say goes and I say that you are going to marry him whether you like it or not," Rudy spat. If it had been anyone else Rudy would not have been so patient with the conversation. He would've had the person walk out with their tale between their legs.
Bonnie flinched away from her father. But soon masked the hurt and stood up straighter and taller.
"Yes your majesty," Bonnie said her voice calm and collected.
This time it is he who cracked. His face fell. The King looked tired and worn like he hadn't had a good nights rest in years. A part of Bonnie felt sorry for her father but the other couldn't bring itself to care. He was forcing her into a marriage that she didn't want.
"You have to understand Bonnie. I am only doing what is best for our people. I'm looking out for their best interest. I am their king after all," he explained.
King. King. King. I am King. That's all that ever came out of his mouth and Bonnie was sick of it.
"You are a father too and fathers have their daughters best interest too," with that Bonnie walks away with her head held high.
"Bonnie I have not dismissed you and Do not walk away from me when I am talking to you," her father said slamming the doors she had opened shut.
Bonnie pivoted around and faced her father barely containing her tears.
Rudy was at a loss of what to say then. He wanted to say so much but his tongue felt glued to the roof of his mouth. The look on Bonnie's face tore his heart to pieces but not nearly enough to back out on his word to hand his daughter's hand in marriage to the young King that demanded it for peace.
He had never seen Bonnie, his strong, brave, stubborn and sweet Bonnie with a heart too big for this realm or the next look so defeated and resolved to her fate.
His hands were tied, he had to make his daughter understand. The fate of them all depended on that one union to unite all the kingdoms once again. They couldn't afford to start a war. Blood could not be shed. Not here. This place was supposed to be a haven but it was starting to become everything but.
"Your highness may I please be excused? I wish to retire," Bonnie said and for measure she curtseyed with a sarcastic smile on her lips.
"What about dinner?" Her grandmother asked.
"I apologize grandmother but it seems that I have lost my appetite. I only wish to retire if the King allows ofcourse," she said her voice dripping with venom.
Rudy wordlessly opened the doors and watched helplessly as his daughter walked out of his office, her dress trailing behind her, leaving him and his mother alone then closed the doors once again.
"I think she hates me," he said confiding in his mother dropping in his seat.
"She could never. She loves you more than you could ever imagine," she said reassuring her only son.
"It doesn't feel like it," The King admitted feeling years beyond his actual age.
"The child is just upset. She will come around eventually," the former queen said.
Rudy didn't reply but he hoped that his mother was right.
