How did she get into this? It all started with what seemed a sweet moment with a little, harmless
creature. Next moment, its whole group, a pack of baboons, showed up and started chasing her.
Was a piece of paper with a drawing worth all that trouble?
Well, she'll ponder it later, if she's still alive, for, right now, she's practically flying, carried by a
mysterious, virtually naked man, who jumps from branch to branch, like monkeys. At least she didn't
lose her shoe earlier, when that damned baboon tried to grab it off her foot. Actually, Jane wouldn't
have made that last thought, if she knew that not having her ''precious'' boot stolen sealed her fate.
She'll find out soon enough!
Right when she has started believing that this mysterious man will rescue her from those herbivorous,
yet still bloodthirsty, creatures, something goes wrong. The edge of her umbrella gets accidentally hung
by a vine. With a girlie scream, Jane finds herself spinning around the vine, in a fashion that would be
comical if the situation wasn't so critical. To make matters worse, the baboons swarm on her. Stupid
creatures! Can't they realize that the vine will not be able to hold all that weight at once?
Meanwhile, Tarzan sighs and turns around, going for the lady's rescue again. But will he make it this
time? As the terrified Jane feared, the vine breaks. Along with the angry animals' flock, she's now
heading towards the fatally hard jungle ground, in high velocity.
Tarzan, who's now swinging right above the pandemonium, extends his foot. His plan was to lock it
onto the lady's. However, Jane is wearing a boot! Her toes are not exposed for Tarzan to lock his own
toes between! Therefore, the girl's foot slips off Tarzan's attempt to grab it.
The jungle man wide opens his eyes, realizing it's too late to do anything to prevent the tragedy. Darn,
how did this happen? He thought that he had everything under control, that all that would be a trifle.
Jane's girlie cry abruptly stops when she makes contact with the ground. She's now lying there,
without moving, a pond of blood around her lovely head.
The baboons, whose size and physical structure allowed them to fall without getting injured, scatter
as Tarzan lands to see the aftermath of the accident.
Tantor, along with Terkin and other teenage gorillas from Tarzan's crew are examining the strange
(at least in their eyes) objects in the human camp. Tarzan shows up getting off a vine. He's
carrying the body of an unknown, seemingly female, creature.
-''Tarzan! What the nutjob!'' Terkin cries.
The primitive human places the body on the ground.
-''I think she's dead'' he declares in sorrow.
-''What kind of animal is this?'' Terkin examines her, trying to move her and check her out from all
possible angles.
-''I don't know, but she gives me creeps'' Tantor trembles. ''Maybe we should leave before she turns
into a zombie''.
Before Tarzan can answer, an angry growl is heard. Kerchak! The adult gorillas have arrived. The eyes
of the pack's leader fall on the female corpse. Then, he glares at Tarzan.
-''What did you do, fool?'' he yells. ''Will you never stop causing problems to us?''
-''Kerchak, it's not my fault'' his adopted son hesitantly tries to explain. ''I was just trying to...''
Tarzan is interrupted by human steps and voices approaching.
-''Quick, we have to get out of here'' Kerchak commands, obviously still furious, as if he's indirectly
saying to his son: ''I'll deal with you later''.
By the time the hunter Clayton and the professor Archimedes, Jane's father, arrive, Tarzan and his
family have retreated back to the jungle.
-''What the heck happened here?'' Clayton cries when he sees Jane's dead body.
-''NOOOO'' the usually docile professor screams.
He runs to Jane, falls on his knees, hugs the corpse and cries all the tears his eyes can produce.
Now that he's not seen by the professor, Clayton smiles. This death can be utilized as a good
excuse to proceed to his plan.
He walks to the professor and holds his shoulder. Then, trying to make his voice sad and
compassionate, he says:
-''Professor Archimedes, those beasts took your daughter's life. I share your pain. I was
genuinely fond of Miss Jane and i swear i shall do anything in my power to avenge her. Do i
have your permission to set traps for gorillas?''
-''Do what you want. I don't care about anything anymore'' Archimedes sobs.
Clayton smirks.
Back at the pack's area, Kerchak is still mad at the son he never trully accepted.
-''Are you insane?'' the gorilla leader yells. ''What were you thinking, messing with
them?''
-''Kerchak, he explained to you that he was not the one who killed that creature''
Kala, Tarzan's loving mother, tries to defend him.
-''Well, tell that to the other members of her pack'' Kerchak retorts. ''Now they will
hold us responsible and hunt us to the end of the world. That's why we have to
migrate and find a new territory''.
Kerchak beckons to the other members of the team to follow him. Everyone, one
by one, slowly obeys to the leader's command. Before starting walking, Tarzan
looks behind him for one last time. He sighs.
Those creatures, that looked like him, seemed interesting. Had things gone
differently, he'd have loved to know them better. Unfortunately, as things
turned out, Kerchak is right, no matter how strict he is sometimes. They have
to get as far from the camp as possible.
-''TARZAN, MOVE'' Kerchak's growl interrupts his thoughts.
That brings him back to reality. Without further ado, he follows his pack, deep
in the jungle, never to be seen again around.
All that because Jane did not lose her shoe!
