I watched the Flock playing when suddenly the Voice said Maximum. Jane and, her best friend, a dragon can help you. I had no idea what the Voice was talking about but then I was sucked into a tornado. I screamed, "Fang! Take care of the others!" And then I vanished.

When I came to, I was in a forest somewhere with a dragon and a girl standing over me. I stared at the girl and asked, "Are you Jane?" She nodded and then said, "How do you know my name?" I took a deep breath, unfolded my wings and said, "My name is Maximum Ride, but you can call me Max. I have a Voice who told me you can help me." She nodded, but neither of us knew what to expect.
