Prompt: Content

Danny looked down at Lindsay and smiled. She was fast asleep, utterly tired after nearly thirty-six hours of labor. He couldn't believe how amazing she was, how she had gotten through it all and given him the most amazing gift in the entire world—a beautiful baby boy.

When she'd held him for the first time, turning to him and telling their son that he was, "the daddy," she'd called him Louis.

"Hey little Louis," she said, smiling softly, still crying, "This is your daddy, Louis. This is your daddy."

He gathered the sleeping boy closer and reached for his wife's hand. Ten years ago, contentment had been winning a baseball game, and then catching a killer, but now he knew that the only place he'd ever been content was with his wife and son.

His family.
