Yusei was jolted awake as cold hands closed down around his throat. His Signer mark instantly flared up, illuminating the darkness just enough so that he could make out the pale face before him. "K-Kiryu… why?!" Kiryu simply laughed, a sound filled with all kinds of insanity.
"Because you need to suffer."
He tightened his grip, and chuckled as Yusei clawed at his hands, desperately trying to pry them away.
"You thought you could save us, didn't you?"
Tighter. Yusei's vision was becoming blurry as he tried to fight off the dizziness, and the burning pain.
"But you can't even save your pathetic self." Kiryu leaned in closer, brushing his lips against his victim's ear.
"You failed."
He gave a final crushing squeeze, forcing out the Signer's final breath.
The tail mark's bright red glow faded.
