Takes place two days after "Back In Black"
Hayley was just locking up her shop when there was a knock at the front door. Much to her surprise, it was Tommy.
"Tommy!" she said, her cool gray eyes sparkling with happiness. "Well, this is a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting you."
"I had to talk to you, Hayley. It's getting harder and harder for me." Tommy said as he walked in. "May I sit?"
"Please do." Hayley said, leading them to the couch where they could sit. "What's getting harder? Being a ranger again after so much time? Tommy it can't be that hard. I mean, you were a ranger before. This should be nothing new to you."
"No, Hayley." Tommy said. "That's not it. I...I have to tell you something. It's really important... and it's from my heart."
Hayley looked surprised. "Tommy, what is it? Is something wrong?" She scooted her chair closer to him and tried to get him to look into her eyes again. "Has something happened to one of your friends?"
"No, Hayley." He took her hands in his. "It's nothing bad. In this case, I think it might be something good...but I've held it inside for so long, that if I don't tell you, I think that I'll burst."
"Tommy..." She began but he placed a finger to her lips.
"No...please Hayley, don't say anything. Just let me tell you this."
She nodded.
"Hayley, the truth is...that I...well, I...God, this is hard to say...even if it is from my heart. I never had a problem with stuff like this before."
"Just say it, Tommy." Hayley encouraged. "Let your heart do the talking."
Tommy closed his eyes, thought for a moment, and then said, "Hayley...I'm in love with you. I think I've been in love with you since the day I met you."
Hayley looked shocked for a moment and then she said, "Er...come again?"
"I told you. I love you Hayley."
